Georgia Gives Day is an initiative that has been co-created by the nonprofit sector itself. It doesn't support one cause or one locale - it's all of us in the state's nonprofit sector pulling together to ask you to stop and consider your life and your community without nonprofits. How much less connected, less vibrant, less interesting and less supported would our communities be without them?

Hog CAFO Rollbacks Threaten Communities, Rivers & Property Rights

The EPD is proposing changes to Georgia's Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) rules.
As a Georgia Water Coalition Partner, GreenLaw asks our supporters to reach out to the DNR Board and urge them NOT to roll back rules which can endanger the health of Georgians and the safety of our rivers.
       Proposed Solar Fee
GreenLaw has intervened in the rate case pending before the GA Public Service Commission on behalf of our client, the Sierra Club to advocate for more clean, renewable energy options in our state. Georgia Power is proposing a solar tariff on homeowners who install solar panels on their properties. "A residential customer [who] chooses to be environmentally conscious and attempt to reduce his or her electric bill...would be charged an additional monthly fee of $5.56 per kilowatt hour," said the PSC's renewable energy manager in a statement opposing the proposed tariff.  Read More Here
