Tis the Season...

To worry about how busy we are. Here, at Nautilus, our "busy season" is definitely upon us. Construction is full speed ahead, and the number of pools we have built in 2015 averaged as good as our better years before the market downturn.

As busy as we all are this month, don't forget to take time to relax and enjoy your family and friends.

I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope that all of your blessings arrive with a big red bow on top.

Sincerely,

 Pete Coccaro

 Owner, Nautilus Pools

Holiday Hours:

We will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.  Thank you!!

Custom Shaped Spa

This 6'4" x 8'6" custom shaped spa is raised 8" above the deck.  The beautiful shape is accented by the interior finish which is Pebble Tec in Cancun Blue.  The decking is 12" x 12" Autumn Blend pavers, set in an offset diagonal pattern. A heat pump, salt generator, and an E-command were also installed.  An E-command is an electrical subpanel on the pool pad to automate basic pool and spa functions.

As shown above, the custom shape of the spa compliments the entertaining space of the lanai.

DIY TIPS

TLC for Your Gardening Equipment

You have to admit that, geographically, living in Florida makes our winter outdoor responsibilities pretty light.  However, we still need to pay attention to all those tools that get a workout during the rest of the year.  If we do, we can avoid potential repairs or replacement.  Here are some things to consider:

(1) Use a brush or scraper on your tools to remove stuck on soil

(2) Lubricate all joints and springs

(3) Sharpen (carefully) your clippers, loppers, and saws

(4) Spray your bare metal parts with WD-40 (or similar oil product)

(5) Wipe wooden parts with linseed oil

Don't forget your hoses--drain all the water and store them on reels or coil them.  Your power tools should be maintained according to your owner's manual.

If you give your gardening equipment a little TLC, come spring, you will be a happy gardener.

You can find more information in Winterizing Garden Tools, Guest Article for the Tallahassee Democrat, written by Taylor Vandiver.
