Old Dog, New Tricks!
For the past 23 years that we've been in the pool business all of our drawings for the 2300 pools we've built, have been created the old fashioned way...with pen, pencil, paper and eraser. Well, we've finally moved to the electonic age. Eryn and I have been working dilligently to learn the technicalities of our new computer architectural design (CAD) program. Like most CAD programs It can do just about everything...from the "floor" plan to the elevations, 360 degree views and even birds singing and butterflies floating by! One of the most important things it does is to help with the pricing. Changes in design can easily be recalculated - great for saving time and money!
All it takes is the knowledge to do it. And, I'm sure you know the old saying about old dogs and new tricks...my learning curve has been filled with highs and lows. But now, with Eryn's help (and my teenage son, Nick), we're well on our way to mastering the program.

Bookkeeper
After retiring from 25 years in the banking industry, Maryann came to work at Nautilus Pools 9 1/2 years ago. Along with her bookkeeping duties, she'll take on many other aspects of the business as the need arises.
Maryann and her husband, John, have been married for 32 years and have 2 adult children. When not at work, she enjoys the company of their 2 Chocolate Labs, Taz & Harley, (each weighing in at 90 - 110 lbs) that think they're lap dogs.
Weekends will often find Maryann & John out on the boat enjoying our beautiful Florida weather.

FSPA President
It is with great pleasure that I have accepted the honor of being elected to be the 2013 President of the Florida Swimming Pool Association. Over the many years I've been a member, I've served in other positions for the FSPA including Chair of the Design Awards, Executive Committee and Vice President last year.
The FSPA serves as the coordinating organization for 16 local FSPA Chapters that serve 600 member companies statewide.
FSPA provides government relations representation on behalf of its members to the Florida Building Commission and the Construction Industry Licensing Board as well as other legislative bodies that regulate the swimming pool industry in Florida such as the Department of Health.
The Association provides educational courses for industry professionals, produces an annual industry trade show, and acts as the consumer resource for finding reliable professionals in the swimming pool industry.
I look forward to this next year of serving our membership and industry.
