Birthday Wishes

On average each month, more than 200 Oklahoma county children have a birthday while in foster care. While we hope that they are in a loving home that could celebrate their latest milestone, we know that many are not. Your gift of $25 goes to provide a cake (thru Birthdays Made With Love) and gift for a child in foster care.
Please go to OKFosterWishes.com to read the names and ages of children who will celebrate their birthday this month away from their family and uncertain of their future.

Family Fun at the Zoo

We are excited to be a part of the annual Oklahoma County Foster Family Fun Day! We partnered with LifeChurch.tv NorthWest, OKDHS and others to honor foster families by inviting them to a day at the Oklahoma City Zoo. The families enjoyed a barbecue dinner, face painting, a performance by Sugar Free AllStars, a 2012 Keep It Local card and more!

Would you like to volunteer to serve kids in foster care and their families caring for them?

Christmas in July

We are gearing up for a great year of giving to fulfill a great need for Christmas gifts.

The number of children in foster care in Oklahoma has continued to climb. The estimates are that there are currently more than 9,200 children in Oklahoma's protective custody of foster care. That is a significant jump since January's snap shot of 8,308 and a sobering leap from January 2011's snapshot of 8046.

With that said, we are looking for representatives in each of the 77 counties of Oklahoma who will work with their OKDHS counter part and community partners to help facilitate the collection and distribution of Christmas gifts. Email our director, Lisa Feist, at OKFosterWishes@gmail.com with your name and county to receive an application for acceptance for OKFW County Representative.

Teen Shelter In Need

Family Junction Youth Emergency Shelter in OKC - Youth Services has operated the Family Junction since 1972. "The Junction" provides a safe 24-hour home for children between the ages of 12 and 17 who need temporary care while in crisis or transition in living situations.

While at the shelter, residents receive valuable life skills training and counseling and attend public school.

Currently the shelter is asking for donations of school supplies to help the youth be prepared and fit in with their fellow schoolmates.
