Rashaan Meador '99 is a member of the Chicago Alumni Chapter and a Senior Program Coordinator of Media Communication Arts, Architecture & Construction for Chicago Public Schools. In this role, he manages 40+ programs for high school students studying Career Technical Education in the areas of Broadcast Technology, Digital Media, Architecture and Construction.

The Dereck Whittenburg Foundation Supports Shaw Students with $20,000 Scholarship Donation
The Dereck Whittenburg Foundation supported Shaw University scholars with a $20,000 Collegiate Financial Assistance Scholarship University. On December 2, Shaw students Lawrence Johnson, Justice Lang, Chanel Martin and Lionel Morgan each received a $5,000 academic scholarship during an awards ceremony on at the Marbles Kids Museum in Downtown Raleigh. This is the first year the Foundation has awarded the scholarship to Shaw University.

If you know a student interested in completing his or her degree, then have them attend one of our "On the Spot Admissions Days" on January 5th and 7th. During these events, prospective students can complete an application "On the Spot" to enroll for the 2016 Spring Semester. Interested students will need to bring their final high school or college transcript, official SAT/ACT scores, the Federal Student Aid user name and password for financial aid and a $25 application fee.

CIAA Hotel Discount Rate ends January 4th !
The discounted hotel rate for the Shaw University Housing Block for CIAA 2016 ends on January 4, 2016! Please read ALL information regarding reservations and payment requirements carefully. Rooms may be reserved by one of the following methods:
Online
- Visit the CIAA Website and input the dates of stay
- Choose the number of rooms you would like to book;
- Click "Find". The Holiday Inn Center City will show
- Click "Select" the select the preferred bed type
- Click "Next" Follow the steps to add your information and to confirm.
By Phone
- Call (844) 293-6678 (max 3 reservations at one time).
- Mention the access code: SHAW. Operators available Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 9 pm EST
Rooms with one bed start at $249 + tax per night
Rooms with two double beds start at $269 + tax per night
Reservations must be made by January 4, 2016. A 3-night minimum stay, and a non-refundable deposit of $212.00 are required at the time of reservation. If you have questions or unable to block your room, please contact:
