 Shaw University Hits One Million Dollar Mark in Second Quarter
University raises more than $1M in private support this year; tripling monies raised from previous year
Shaw University has more than tripled its fundraising amount from the previous year, University officials announced. To date, the University has raised more than $1,020,000 in private support donations. This compares to just over $300,000 raised during the same time last year. In the last two months, the University has raised more than $770,000 and reports a 100% giving rate this year from its board members.

 Shaw's 150th Anniversary Gala Raises More Than $630k For Student Scholarships
Sold out, epic evening sets records for largest amount raised and largest attended fundraising event in school history
Shaw University concluded its 150th Anniversary Celebration with a sold-out, black-tie Gala that surpassed the original fundraising goal of $500,000. More than $630,000 was raised for student scholarships and campus initiatives. The event set records for the largest amount of funds raised and largest attended fundraising event in school history. More than 98 percent of Shaw students receive financial aid and 36 percent are first-generation college students, making the Gala's success instrumental in supporting student success.

Coach Goree Named CIAA Volleyball Coach of the Year
After guiding her team to a 19-10 overall record, 12-4 in the CIAA and 8-2 in divisional play, the Shaw University head women's volleyball coach DiShondra Goree was named the 2015 CIAA Volleyball Coach of the Year. In just her second season at the helm, Coach Goree led the Lady Bears to a winning record for the first time since 2002-2003 and a berth in the CIAA Volleyball Championship Tournament for the first time since the 2007-2008. The Shaw University Housing Block for CIAA 2016 is open! Please read ALL information regarding reservations and payment requirements carefully. Rooms may be reserved by one of the following methods:

- Visit the CIAA Website and input the dates of stay
- Choose the number of rooms you would like to book;
- Click "Find". The Holiday Inn Center City will show
- Click "Select" the select the preferred bed type
- Click "Next" Follow the steps to add your information and to confirm.
By Phone
- Call (844) 293-6678 (max 3 reservations at one time).
- Mention the access code: SHAW. Operators available Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 9 pm EST
Reservations must be made by January 4, 2016. A 3-night minimum stay, and a non-refundable deposit of $212.00 are required at the time of reservation. If you have questions or unable to block your room, please contact:
