Homecoming 2015
Homecoming is almost here! Are you ready? Be sure to join us for the greatest homecoming in Raleigh beginning this Saturday, October 31st. Here's just a sample of what's to come. We look forward to welcoming you home!
Join us for Shaw University's 150 Voices for Shaw Gospel Concert featuring Kiki Sheard! This soul-lifting, inspirational event will kick off Shaw's Homecoming Week celebration on Saturday, October 31st at 6:00 p.m. at the Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts in Raleigh. Our all-star line-up also includes the Shaw University Gospel Choir, the Springfield Baptist Church Male Chorus and the Watts Chapel Gospel Choir! This concert is one you do not want to miss!

Founder's Day Convocation is an annual Shaw tradition where we recognize our founder, Dr. Henry Martin Tupper. This year's Convocation will take place Friday, November 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. Our keynote speaker for Convocation will be U.S. Congresswoman Dr. Alma Adams, a strong HBCU supporter and representative for North Carolina's 12th District. As we conclude our 150th Anniversary, please make plans to join us for this special occasion.

SHAW FAMILY REUNION

The Shaw Family Reunion will once again take over the Quad on Friday, November 6th at 12:30 p.m. Come out and enjoy the sounds of "Heart and Soul" while doing the wobble and your favorite line dances! We'll also have a "Soul Train Line Dance Off" between the students and alumni. All your favorites will be served including BBQ chicken, fried chicken, green beans, mac and cheese and more (meal is $10). We are now offering reserved seating for the Family Reunion! Kudos to the Shaw University Chicago Alumni Chapter for participating in the Chicago Football Classic HBCU College Fair and securing future Shaw Bears! Last month, Chapter members volunteered during the fair to recruit new students. By all accounts the event was a success, as the Chapter secured new applicants for the class of 2020 and 2021. Thank you Chicago Chapter for your continuous support!
