In collaboration with the expressions of interest ATAC is asking for a $100 donation with each request to raise money for an ATAC Air Cadet Power Familiarization scholarship, allowing PPL students to gain 30 hours of PIC and eligibility to pilot familiarization flights for the league. Clear and Concise Radio Communications is Vital to Safe
Air Navigation

The purpose of all radio communications is that they should convey information or instructions unambiguously to a specific recipient or recipients. Use of standard format and content is essential to achieve this objective. Superfluous or non standard message format and/or content may result in undesirable outcomes, especially in remote and/or uncontrolled airspace.

Aviators are obligated by law to conform to specific requirements for various situations. ATAC urges all aviators to ensure they remain knowledgeable of applicable regulations and standards.

Transport Canada Develops New Policy on "Wet Leasing"

On August, 30, 2013, Transport Canada issued a new policy on limits to "Wet Leasing". Wet Leasing is the industry term for the rental of both an aircraft and its crew. The policy focuses particularly on off-shore wet leases. It specifies a cap of 20% of a Canadian carriers' fleet being wet leased from a foreign company. The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) will administer the new policy. ATAC has met with both Transport Canada and CTA to clarify issues with the policy on behalf of members.
