Call for Nominations: 2016 Catholic Foundation Award

In 2015 Ed Leyden joined the company of Catholic Foundation Award recipients who exemplify what it means to live out their lives for others in the spirit of Philanthropy.

The Foundation invites our community to submit nominations to The Catholic Foundation board of trustees who will select the next deserving recipient. This award honors a worthy individual for his or her distinguished service and support to further the religious, charitable or educational needs within the Diocese of Dallas. The 2016 award will be presented at next year's annual dinner on Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel.

The deadline to nominate the 2016 Catholic Foundation Award recipient is July 1. Nomination forms are available on our website.

Charitable Giving Through a Donor Advised Fund Provides Twice the Impact

stock-investment-pennies.jpg

A gift that gives twice?  It almost sounds too good to be true, but it is very possible.

A Donor Advised Fund at The Catholic Foundation provides the optimal flexibility for charitable giving. Giving through The Catholic Foundation not only benefits your favorite charities, our modest fees and investment income earned from all funds goes into the Foundation's discretionary Philanthropy Fund which awards more than $1 million in grants annually to local schools, parishes and organizations impacting the Catholic community in Dallas.

Impactful giving is just one benefit of charitable giving through a Donor Advised Fund at The Catholic Foundation.

Additional benefits of a Donor Advised Fund at The Catholic Foundation include:
  • support for your favorite charitable organizations, both Catholic and non-Catholic, in our community and beyond
  • making charitable gifts of stock and avoiding capital gains tax convenient
  • significant tax advantages and considerable less complexity because it exists in the context of a community foundation
  • the ability to manage additions to and make grant recommendations online at any time through the Foundation's DonorLink feature on the Foundation website
  • reduced administrative tasks and less complexity associated with charitable giving.
If giving through a Donor Advised Fund at The Catholic Foundation is something you are considering please contact  Cheryl Unis Mansour ,  Michael George  or Mike Murray in our office for guidance on establishing this type of charitable fund. For more information on other current giving options at The Catholic Foundation visit our website.
