A Grant for Enrichment Programs Brings Value to Catholic Education

  

 

At Catholic schools across Dallas, students are participating in arts and science enrichment activities. Now more than ever, schools are fighting to keep students engaged and equipped for future success.

  

Donors at The Catholic Foundation support education inside and outside of the classroom where students can reach their full potential. The Catholic Foundation has provided $196,400 in grants to Big Thought since 2001 and $89,900 in grants to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and its predecessor (Museum of Nature and Science) since 2006.  With these funds, teachers and administrators choose arts and science programs they would like to offer their students in alignment with academic areas. "The school has limited funding for field trips, so this grant basically provides an opportunity for my students to experience the excitement and wonder of science in action...MORE 

 

Ceremony to Present Spring 2014 Grants to 16 Local Groups

On April 30, 2014, at San Juan Diego Parish, Thomas W. Codd, Jr., Chairman, The Catholic Foundation Board of Trustees, and John Landon, Chair, The Catholic Foundation Distribution Committee will announce the 2014 spring grant recipients. Twice a year members of the board of trustees conduct site visits and ultimately decide on grant recipients.

 

Grants are made from the Foundation's unrestricted endowment, the Philanthropy Fund. For this spring grant cycle the Board is distributing more than $550,000 that will go toward tuition assistance, renovations, teacher development and a sculpture garden all benefiting the community within the Diocese of Dallas.

Call for Nominations:  2015 Catholic Foundation Annual Award

 

In 2014 Mary and Mike Terry joined the company of many members of our community who exemplify what it means to live out their lives for others with the spirit of Philanthropy.

 

Each year the Foundation asks the community to present nominations to the board of trustees who select the deserving recipient.  The 2015 award will be presented at next year's annual dinner on Friday, February 6, 2015.
