During this week of Thanksgiving, I want you all to know how grateful I am for our SBMC family.

I shared with you at the meeting this week that on Wednesday, November 5th, my Mom passed away at the age of 60. Thank you all so much for the phone calls, e-mails, facebook posts, cards, flowers... and especially the hugs. I would also like to thank our SBMC Officers, who took care of the club while we were away. This allowed Tim to take care of me so that I could have time to heal. Thank you all so much for your friendship and love.

New members take note: this club is about more than passing business cards and having luncheons. This is about family and community. I have met some of my very best friends here. We are here for each other, and for that I am truly grateful.

This Wednesday we will celebrate Thanksgiving SBMC Style with our annual wine tasting, hosted by Jeanne Maron. I hope to see you there.

"Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the year because it reminds us to give thanks and to count our blessings. Suddenly, so many things become so little when we realize how blessed and lucky we are." ~ Joyce Giraud

Our next Southside Business Men's Club (SBMC) golf outing will be at Cimarrone Golf Club on Friday, December 12th with a start time at 12:00 noon. Since December is an expensive month for many of us, we've tried to keep cost down for this outing and the fee will only be $29.00 (plus tax) per participant.

Players of all abilities will enjoy Cimarrone's championship layout. Designed by renowned architect David Postlethwait, the manicured course conditions and challenging design provides a fun, player-friendly experience for all golfers. You will enjoy Cimaronne's well-defined fairways and excellent greens as well as appreciate numerous risk-reward opportunities provided by strategically placed bunkers and many water and marsh features.

We have room for a maximum of 32 players. If you want to join us please contact me at 904-403-6754 or [email protected] to reserve your spot(s).

We have a limited number of tickets so please go to to register as soon as possible. No tickets will be sold at the door. Deadline to purchase tickets is November 30.

You don't want to miss this fabulous gala!!!

We have a group of rooms at The Sheraton on Deerwood Park Blvd., at an amazing group rate of just $79! When making reservations be sure to let them know you are with SBMC!

If you have any questions, please contact Wendy Helms, Chair at 904-838-2241 or

 Megan Turner, Co-Chair 404-6243.

There are 2015 spotlight speaker dates available!  The book is at the sign-in table at each meeting.

This is free to all members in good standing and gives you the opportunity to talk about your business, family, interests, or anything else you would like to talk about for five minutes.  You are also able to put out business cards, flyers, or informational materials on the tables to showcase your business.

Pick your date before they fill up!

We also ask for volunteers to help us start our meetings to get us thinking about what is really important and what is behind whatever success we have achieved - God and Country.

If you have a calling to lead us in prayer/invocation or the pledge of allegiance, please either call or sign up in the spotlight speaker book.
