I would like to offer my thanks to Tracy Collins from Goodwill Industries of North Florida for being our speaker this week. I have always been a big fan of Goodwill. Unlike some people, I am not a pack rat. I hate clutter and love to purge my home of unused items. Just recently, the First Gentleman and I cleaned out the house and held a yard sale. Fortunately for Goodwill, the yard sale was not very well attended! So, to the donation center we went. On the other hand, we learned from Tracy that Goodwill is much more than the thrift shops where I donate my skinny clothes and old household items. They have a mission in this community to give people the resources to create a better life for themselves, which makes Jacksonville a better place for all of us. So thanks, Goodwill.

See you all Wednesday, when our guest speaker will be Tony Vecchio, the Executive Director of the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Don't forget to bring a guest as well as an auction item to promote your business.

GOLF OUTING

SBMC MONTHLY GOLF OUTING - FRIDAY, JULY 18TH AT PALENCIA

The next SBMC monthly golf outing will be at Palencia on Friday, July 18th. We'll have a shotgun start at 12:30PM and the cost is $55.00 (+ tax) per player, including range balls. The Palencia Club was opened in May, 2002 and this private facility features an authentic Florida layout that was designed by Arthur Hills. Carved out between centuries-old oak trees, the championship golf course offers a challenging experience. The breezes from the Intracoastal Waterway require golfers to have good shot accuracy for this course. Meticulously maintained, Palencia's golf course offers many breath-taking views along the marsh, wetlands, preserves and the Tolomato River. It has received the well-earned honor of being an Audubon Sanctuary and has a great practice area, so come early to hone your skills.

Please contact Nico Hogeveen at 904-403-6754 or [email protected] to reserve your spot(s).

MEET-A-MEMBER
The next Meet-a-Member will be Thursday, July 24th and is hosted by Cramer Law Center. Jeff's team is celebrating their 30th Anniversary! Do the math and you quickly discover the founding date is smack in the middle of the 80's ... July 1, 1984 to be precise!

Go Back to the Future, jump into your parachute pants, grab your Member's Only jacket and tease up your Flock of Seagulls hairdo for a fun 80's themed evening. Beer and wine were just as popular in the 80's as they are now so there will be some of that. And, some exceptional hors d'oeuvres by Hope Dempsey of D'Vine Cuisine will be served.

Tickets are $5 each and will go on sale soon so stay tuned at upcoming meetings.

RIVER CRUISE
The River Cruise Party will be held on August 22 aboard the beautiful yacht, The Jacksonville Lady. There will be hot and cold o'rduourves, a cash bar available for your favorite adult beverages, and  beautiful views of Jacksonville from the river. It is sure to be fun and entertaining.  The cost is $30.00 per person so see Dee or go on line to pay for your tickets today.  With all of the excitement,  fun,  and scuttlebutt about last year's cruise we expect this to be a sellout.  Rumor has it that with 40 tickets sold we may be able to offer a free drink or 2.

So come out, enjoy and network with the fabulous members of our great organization!

Hope to see you all there!
