--Since President Annie was unable to preside over last week's meeting, she thought it would be a great idea for me (the First Gentleman), to write this week's message. Thanks, honey!
Wow, this was another great week for our Club! Sponsors, checks, new members, fun events, and Erin Eiras is happy to see Mike Dungey again.
The biggest news is the announcement by 2nd VP Patrick Heatherington, that Duckworth Construction will be the Title Sponsor for our SBMC YAP NJROTC Charity Clay Shoot in October!! Hank Duckworth is a model club member, as he continually supports our fondness of fine liquor and guns. Thanks, Hank!! More details about this new event will be forthcoming, but this will be a lot of fun for everyone.
YAP Charity Golf Classic Chairmen: Rick Thompson, Crump Kirby, and Jay Cann (and the attending committee), presented the Club with a check for $17,165.05 for our charity!! Thanks again to all the sponsors, the players, and/or anyone who helped put on this great event!
At Wednesday's meeting we inducted 3 members: Valerie Seagraves of About Floors N More, is a previous member who is returning with a new company. Kathi Crothers of City Rescue Mission is the new alternate member. And, Erik Hendrick is the owner of Bodigiti, a web design and development company. Please reach out to our newest members: welcome them, and encourage them to get involved with our various events!
Thursday, Jeanne Maron and Howard Kaplan hosted a Meet-a-Member at the St. Augustine stores: the Gifted Cork and The Gifted Gourmet! This was a fantastic event, great location, and a lot of fun! Meet-a-Members are well known for being the best entertainment value; you don't want to miss the next one!
Friday, a full field of SBMC golfers descend upon the Slammer and the Squire, at World Golf Village! Folks, read this carefully: people from around the country would LOVE to play on the courses that we get to, throughout the year. Even if you're a novice, you really should be playing in our Monthly Golf Outings. Thanks, Nico, for making these great events!
You don't want to miss this week's meeting: our friend Susan Carr of AAA, will speak about the summer international travel season...and Annie will be back!
