Friday night we had a delicious tailgate in the parking lot prior to the Jacksonville Suns game. When I arrived at 5pm I thought FOR SURE that we were going to be heading for cover at any moment! The sky got dark, the wind picked up, but fortunately by game time we had no more than a few scattered sprinkles. Thanks goodness, because there was no way I was going to miss out on that delicious BBQ! As a former professional chicken wing eater,(proof: http://www.iwantabuzz.com/wdblog/tag/wings/) I can offer my Presidential Seal Of Approval on the wings that Tom Kennedy and team grilled up for the event. The brisket, pulled pork, and fixins were all delicious, and of course the beer was cold. What more could a girl ask for? I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.
I hope everyone had fun on the SBMC Fishing Trip yesterday, and I look forward to hearing your fish tales!
Our speaker this week is Mark Frisch, owner of our new North American Soccer League team, Jacksonville Armada FC. I was at the launch party at the Landing a few months ago and The First Gentleman and I have already signed up for season tickets. I hope to see you all at the meeting so we can learn more about Professional Soccer on the First Coast, and what it means for all of us.

GOLF OUTING

Our June golf outing will be a special treat at one of the World Golf Village/World Golf Hall of Fame courses. Last year we played the King & Bear course, this year it's the Slammer & Squire. With course design input from PGA legends and Hall of Fame members Sam (The Slammer) Snead and Gene (The Squire) Sarazen this resort course offers views of the World Golf Hall of Fame from several holes and is distinguished by memorable par-3's, preserved woodlands, wetlands and natural beauty. Our date to play this excellent lay-out is Friday, June 27th and our shotgun start will be at 1:00PM. Thanks to the World Golf Hall of Fame being a fellow SBMC member we are able to keep the greens fee very competitive at $64.00 per participant (+tax), including range balls.
