Last week we had Matt Shirk as our guest speaker, who gave a wonderful talk
on the busy office of the Public Defender. It was hard to believe how much goes into protecting people who cannot otherwise afford an attorney to defend them. It was good to hear how much of an interest they have taken on in the areas of both Drug Court and Veterans Court.
The last monthly golf outing of the year was Friday, and Nico Hogeveen has done a wonderful job all year. The outing was at St Johns Golf & Country Club, and it was as usual, a beautiful course, and a great time was had by all.
Saturday was our Annual Christmas Shopping Spree for the under-privileged kids from the Davis Center. Target on San Jose Boulevard graciously hosts this event for us every year. This year we had 32 kids, and if you haven't done this, it's a wonderful thing to experience, and a great way to give back to the community, by walking around with a child helping buy gifts for their family and themselves. I'd like to thank Past President Gene Maszy for once again taking on this event, and for all of the volunteer shoppers who participated so early on a Saturday morning.

GATOR BOWL RAFFLE

Tickets are now on sale!
The 68th Annual Gator Bowl Game, will be held on January 1st, 2014, at EverBank Field, between the SEC and Big 10. The raffle drawing is for: 6 game tickets, a parking pass and 6 admissions into the Budweiser Tailgate Party (food, beverages and entertainment) held outside the south endzone!
As always, 1 raffle ticket/$5, 3 tickets/$10 or 7 tickets/$20 (best value). Drawing for this $700 package will be at the Club meeting on December 18th.

Weekly we place volunteers on the agenda to perform the Pledge and Invocation at each meeting. If you are willing to do one of these at an upcoming meeting please contact me so we can be prepared in advance.
