Hello all! Last week we had our Jacksonville Sheriff's Office awards, and had both the Sheriff and the Under Sheriff present for the program. It was great to see our efforts of time and money being put to good use for deserving individuals.
This week is our fall version of the Youth Achievers Program, and we will have a full program, giving awards to students from the Safety Patrol of Pine Forest Elementary school. We will have several guests in attendance including Mayor of Jacksonville Alvin Brown.
This will be a full house meeting, so plan to arrive early! Have a great week, and I'll see you Wednesday.

YOUTH ACHIEVER PROGRAM

Fall YAP Luncheon
Mark your calendars for November 20th! We have a VERY special program including Mayor Alvin Brown, Ken Jefferson, Ashley Juarez (School Board member for Southside), Pine Forest Elementary Safety Patrols, and more! Since they did such a stellar job on Military appreciation day, we've asked the Robert E. Lee ROTC Color Guard to return and they'll be kicking off our meeting. This time they're letting their Rifle Team tag along to give a special demonstration that is sure to impress! This will be the biggest Youth Achiever Program Luncheon we've had in years and you won't want to miss all that's in store. In addition, thanks to the Past President's committee we'll be awarding for the first time 2 "Teacher of the Year" awards to Southside Elementary School Teachers. Don't be left out!

VETERAN'S DAY PARADE
|
THANK YOU TO ALL VOLUNTEERS AND VETERANS who participated in this year's Veterans Day Parade. From the many comments along the parade route, our float was absolutely beautiful and we should all be proud! We could not have accomplished this without the help of everyone who donated their time, talents and money toward this special float dedicated to our Military Veterans. Special thanks go out to the following members and companies who helped make this happen:
Nimnicht Chevrolet: For providing the beautiful Chevy truck necessary to pull the float.
Gene and Brian Bushor: For the trailers necessary to build and move the float materials. Also thanks to Gene for his tireless efforts and guidance throughout the process.
Tom and Cathy Kennedy: For providing delicious BBQ to our volunteers on four different nights of the project build.
First and Second Vice Presidents Annie and Tim Howe: For not only teaming up with Bubba Burgers and providing dinner for our volunteers on 2 different nights of the project build; but also sharing their leadership talents and time over the course of the entire project.
Third Vice President Patrick Heatherington: For his outstanding leadership over the entire project.
Hal Smith: My Co-Chair who emerged as a true leader through his efforts in managing many aspects of the project.
Sunnyland Roofing: For providing the warehouse space necessary to build the float.
Once again, thanks to ALL who helped make SBMC shine in the eyes of Jacksonville!
Warm Regards,
Phil Rosebrock
