Jepp Walter, President
Southside Business Men's Club
(904) 838-8400
Last week we had a VERY informative talk from Don Fox, the CEO of Firehouse Subs. What a learning experience! Definitely made you think about how important Customer Service is, and attention to responsiveness to their needs. It amazes me how many businesses do not show any concern for that. Hopefully we all learned from it, and can try to be as dedicated to the customer.
Be sure to get your Jaguars tickets for next Sunday. The tailgate party will be off the hook! Read below, and spread the word to your friends, or buy some for your employees and co-workers! It's an incredible value.
This week we will have Nat Ford, the President of our Jacksonville Transportation Authority. I've heard Nat speak before, and it is a wonderful talk, and covers a great deal about our city and its growing needs.
See you all Wednesday!
Jepp

SBMC EXECUTIVE SECRETARY
|
As most of you know, our Club Secretary, Cherri Coombs Ohmer, is leaving our organization, for a great career move. After an extensive search, thanks in large to Angie Tekin with Oasis Staffing, we now have a new Club Secretary. I'd like to welcome Christy Rosen to our team. Christy was at last week's meeting, and will overlap with Cherri for a short period of time for the transition. I'd like to thank Cherri for keeping the club afloat while she and Treasurer Dee Kirby train Christy to get her up and running. Please take a moment to say "Thank you" and "Good Bye" to Cherri when you visit this week, and also "Hi, my name is _ _ _ _" as you introduce yourself to Christy.

Are you a Jag-or-not? Or are you a Jag-a-tater?
Will you be watching football Sunday, September 29th? Will Tebow add the glow, or will my mother walk on as quarterback and put on the show?
If you answered, YES, NO or I don't know to any of the above questions, THEN YOU NEED TO PARTY WITH US! SBMC is hosting their 4th Annual Much Discussed Tailgate Party...and it happens to be at Everbank Field. FALL YAP

YAP Cookout - October 3rd YAP Program - November 20th
The Youth Achiever Program helps the boys and girls who serve as Southside Elementary school safety patrols, specifically those of Pine Forest with the cost of the trip to Washington DC. Then later upon applying to college, these same students are eligible to apply for our annual YAP college scholarships to the schools of their choice (usually $1,000-$1,500 depending on demand). This program is funded in part by our semi-annual Youth Achiever Program cook-outs, and the Fall one is just around the corner on October 3, 2013.
This is your opportunity to make an investment in this worthy program. As SBMC members you can make a difference by getting involved. There are 3 ways to get involved you can help on the YAP committee, volunteer the day of the cookout 10/3/2013 or Invest by being a Sponsor in this program. Investment Sponsorships for this Fall only are $125.
