Last week was interesting. Due to a personal emergency, Daniel Davis from the Jax Chamber was unable to attend our meeting as our Guest Speaker. We are so thankful to have two members step up that happen to be from the Florida House of Representatives! Honorables Lake Ray and Charles McBurney stepped up and gave us a very informative legislative update, being asked at the last moment. We always enjoy seeing them, and I am so proud to be able to say they are members of our fine organization. I really appreciate their stepping up to the plate when we needed them, and owe them my debt of gratitude.
Thursday evening we had a WONDERFUL River Cruise on the Foxy Lady, a beautiful white yacht that is based at River City Brewing Company. They picked us up near the Hyatt Riverfront, and took us on a beautiful sunset cruise. Everyone aboard had a wonderful time, and this will definitely be a repeat event, and we will grow it to more people next year.
Join us this week as we hear from two young ladies from Florida State College at Jacksonville. This should be a great presentation from a fine institution that we've watched grow from a Junior College to its status of today. I'm sure we will all enjoy their visit to our club.
I'll see you Wednesday!
