PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Jepp Walter, SBMC 2013 PresidentJepp Walter, President
Southside Business Men's Club

(904) 838-8400

This past Wednesday, we had another great turnout!  It was so good to see so many of you visiting for such an important meeting.  We gave away our Pauline Smith Scholarship for $2000 to Yousra Hebeisha, who was a very gracious recipient, as the Truman Scholar representing University of North Florida.

Additionally, we had the YAP Charity Golf Tournament committee up front as the chairmen and founder presented the club with a check for $18,085.73!  This was a tremendous result of great efforts on their parts, and I personally want to thank Rick, Jay, Crump, and the rest of the team that did such a fabulous job on arguably the best golf tournament in Jacksonville.

We also had Wayne Hogan from Terrell-Hogan talk to us about the dangers of distracted driving.  Wayne really made us think about making that next call or text while driving, and to pull over if you must do either of these.  It was a great talk, and Wayne stayed after the meeting to take questions from many members who were interested in learning more.

This week we will have Sheriff John Rutherford as our speaker and the City Council President, Bill Bishop with a Civic Affairs update, so I expect another big turnout.  I hope everyone had a great weekend, and I'll see you Wednesday.
