Last Wednesday, we had the kids from the school patrol with Beauclerc Elementary School as our guests. We treated them to lunch, and awarded them with Certificates for the Youth Achiever's Program, started back in 1994 to help those kids get on the annual trip to Washington, D.C. It has grown to become a fund raiser for the schools. The following day, Thursday, the cookout was held at the school in a festival type atmosphere with chicken dinners and hotdogs being sold to families to help in the fund raiser.
This Wednesday we will have Jerry Mallot from the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce as our guest speaker. Jerry is the President of the Jax USA Partnership, formerly known as 'Cornerstone' with the Chamber. He is the man that knows what larger companies are courting Jacksonville as their destination for their businesses. It will no doubt be a very interesting talk to see what lies on the horizon for our fair city.
On a personal note I'd like to ask for your prayers for Nico Hogeveen, who was in the hospital the past couple of weeks. At the time of this writing, he should be hopefully home recovering. Nico is the Chairman of the monthly Golf Outings this year, and has been a wonderful supporter of our club.
We have a lot of activities coming up, with a TV giveaway and our next Meet a Member in April. Stay tuned, and I look forward to seeing you all this Wednesday.

The SBMC is having a Tailgating Party for the Jacksonville Suns Baseball game. Game time is 7:05 PM. Party starts at 5:00 PM in the parking lot behind the stadium. It's that time again. Time to gear up for one of the biggest SBMC events of the year, TPC! Because we're the best organization out there, we've been asked to manage a newer, larger tent the week of May 6th-12th. If you'd like to volunteer, please email or make sure and sign-up at the next SBMC meeting. This is one of the most fun volunteer events of the year and is sure to be better than ever.
(Did I mention there is a party involved?) As usual 4th VP Julie Clements has graciously offered to host our annual TPC party, but you must be a volunteer to attend! If you're a new member, or haven't ever worked TPC before, email or call with any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you there!
