PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Jepp Walter, SBMC 2013 President

Jepp Walter, President

Southside Business Men's Club

Last week we had Matt Rapp from The Players Championship (he said it's ok to call it TPC) as our guest speaker.  Always a great demonstration of what an amazing event we have annually right her in our own back yard.  And timely, as well, since you will be hearing the call soon to sign up to volunteer for TPC!

We are getting into a beautiful time of the year, and into Daylight Savings Time!  Longer days ahead, more time to play golf, and...  oh yes, we have a golf outing this Friday at North Hampton.  A tough course, but an extremely beautiful one.

Remember to sign up for the SBMC Cruise in September!  Don't procrastinate, the cabins will sell out.  You only need $200 to reserve one, and all balances need to be paid in full by June 7th!

This Wednesday we will be graced with the presence of 30-40 of the 5th graders who are on the School Patrol at Beauclerc Elementary!  Our annual spring Youth Achiever's Program event is upon us.  Treat them to lunch on Wednesday, and then we will help serve chicken dinners on Thursday at the school.  If you haven't participated in the past, this is a great way to get to know other members, and contribute the community at the same time.  Sponsorships have been wonderful, but we do need more volunteers!

I hope you all had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day, and I look forward to seeing you Wednesday.

Jepp

SPRING YAP --- March 20th & 21st -

We will be selling Chicken dinners for $8 per tickets that can be purchased at the next meeting or by e-mailing Harry Peltz at
[email protected] or Patrick Heatherington

Dinners will need to be picked up at
Beauclerc Elementary  on day of cook out March 21st
The patrols will be joining us for lunch on the 20th and we'll need help at the BBQ the next day.  If you're willing and able to lend a hand, please email us to get added to the list.

The Youth Achiever Program helps the boys and girls who serve as Southside Elementary school safety patrols, specifically those of Beaclerc  with the cost of the trip to Washington DC. Then later upon applying to college, these same students are eligible to apply for our annual YAP college scholarships to the schools of their choice (usually $1,000-$1,500 depending on demand).  This program is funded in part by our semi-annual Youth Achiever Program cook-outs, and the first one is just around the corner on March 21st.   We'd like to thank the following members for committing to sponsor this year:
