PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Jepp Walter, SBMC 2013 President
Jepp Walter
2013 President

This past Wednesday, we had Dave Anderson with Premier Beverage, who taught us about the differences in Bourbons, and how they are made.  So this is the third part of our adult beverage programs.  We have Tom Whicher with wine the day before Thanksgiving, we have Dan Naes with North Florida Sales on our beer day in the early fall, and now we have someone in the liquor business.  I thought it was very interesting that bourbons are ONLY from the United States.  There were more interesting pieces of trivia as well.  This year it was bourbons, and hopefully Dave will be back next year, and we'll learn about another piece of that puzzle.  If you missed it, be sure to make it when Dave returns.

I stated at the beginning of my year, I will work on educating our members to learn more about our club and how it runs, and who runs it.  Today I asked members under 1 year to answer this question "Who is our 2nd Vice President?" Joan Rogers waved her arms,

and told the correct answer, Tim Howe.  I asked her to come to the front, and I gave her $25 cash.  This is just a sample of what is yet to come, so pay attention to the things you hear, and read the website, or your directory.  I will say the site is being updated as we speak to update all of the officers and chair people, so the 2013 information may not be ready yet, but keep checking!

We'll see you next Wednesday!

Thank you,
Jepp

2013 Chairman of the Board

Galina Schott Immediate Past President Galina Schott was recently elected as our 2013 Chairwoman of the Board.  Congratulations and thank you Galina for your service as President last year and your continued commitment to the Club.  We look forward to working with you this year.

CIVIC AFFAIRS

This week our very own City Council President Bill Bishop will address our club with an update as to the result of our first resolution regarding changes to the economic development laws from last year.  Additionally, he will advise us as to some of the status of and steps needed in regard to the Southbank Riverwalk overhaul issue we as a club took up in 2012.  You won't want to miss this meeting!
