What a great and exciting week we had for the Southside Business Men's Club! It started last Wednesday when we held our annual election. Congratulations to our newly elected 2013 Officers and Members of the Board of Governors! I am confident that under Jepp Walter's leadership as our President next year, our club will continue to grow and prosper.
Last night, over 160 people celebrated the SBMC's 80th Anniversary and a wonderful Holiday Season. What a fabulous party we had and I want to thank our Gala's Chairwoman Rene Cater and her hard-working team, including Angie Tekin and June Johnson, for providing us with a first class event. I was happy to see that so many of our members were able to attend the Gala, share a joy of the Holidays with us, and celebrate our club's success!

We are very, very close to our goal of 100 new members for 2012. Please consider bringing a guest to the meeting this week. You'll be able to stand up and introduce your guest, which brings recognition to you. And if your guest turns in an application by the end of the meeting this week, it will be reviewed by the Board at their meeting immediately afterwards. When approved, they can be installed the next week, and begin enjoying membership right away--and be included in our membership directory for 2013!
It's fun to bring a guest and we all enjoy meeting new people. Our membership contest continues through this month, so each new member you sponsor brings you closer to the $1,000 cash prize.

Children's Shopping Spree - DECEMBER 15th |
Our annual Children's Christmas Shopping Spree benefiting over 40 low income and homeless kids will be this Saturday, December 15th at 8am at the Target on San Jose Blvd near I-295.
Children will be given the money, have a list for essentials to buy, and you will be escorting them as they shop for themselves and their families for Christmas. Donate your time to this very special giving opportunity and help us fulfill the kids' Christmas dreams! We have room for 40 people and families are welcome.
