PMI Poland Chapter Programs Impact Orphaned Children and Other Youth
|
|
Through initiatives such as the chapter's English Summer and Winter Camps, and Project Management at Schools, the PMI Poland Chapter has been able to bring project management skills to students who have limited access to education, including children who are orphaned, living in foster care, and/or experiencing poverty.
In one of the programs
offered by the Gdansk branch of the PMI Poland Chapter, students who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity learn both English and project management skills at the chapter's English Summer and Winter Camps. The program uses elements of PMIEF's educational resources including the Project Management Skills for LifeSM
Speaking of the children who the chapter serves, Malgorzata Kusyk, PMP, Managing Director of the Gdansk branch and PMIEF Liaison, says that they are "intelligent and want to learn...these programs give them a chance." Others also benefiting from PM training are secondary school students, educators, scouts, and technical university students.
In recognizing the tremendous value of PMI Poland Chapter's programs, the chapter's President, Witold Hendrysiak remarks, "It is very satisfying for us to work with such an engaged team of volunteers, but more inspiring are the results."

training guide to create and strengthen programs for social good.
Due in part to the translation of PMIEF materials into Polish and through other efforts of the PMI Poland Chapter, interest in project management has grown nationally. Teachers, especially those who have attended the Project Management Skills for Educators training led by the Gdansk branch, are very interested in bringing project management to their students.
