PM for Social GoodSM

Greetings!

As you know, the PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF) has a reach that expands beyond international borders to touch societies around the globe.

Several of our global programs and resources are highlighted in this issue, including a multinational youth program, an international award and our presence at PMI® Global Congress 2013--EMEA.

We thank you for being a part of our world-wide community!

Sincerely,

Your friends at the PMI Educational Foundation

Project Management and a Sports-Based Program for Youth

boy picking up trash - AMNU - mexico
A boy helps clean up garbage in his community.
Project management skills can unite and enhance communities while teaching youth important life lessons and preparing them for continued community engagement. Examples of this relationship can be found around the world.

Dina Buchbinder, an employee at the United Nations Association of Mexico (AMNU), also recognizes the value of project management on community and youth development.  Last year, Dina traveled to New York City and met volunteers Bill Ruggles, PMP and Julia Bell, PMP, who delivered an abridged version of the PMI Educational Foundation's PM Skills for LifeSM curriculum to United Nations representatives from nine countries.

DpC inspires youth to become active citizens.

Dina was inspired and returned to Mexico eager to apply these skills to the challenges of growing her sports-based youth development program: Deport-es para Compatir (DpC) -- a program of AMNU that aims to create better citizens by using play and physical activities to teach children how to become change agents in their communities.
