2012 PMIEF Kerzner Award Recipient:

Integrating Project Management into Health Care Strategy

In 2010, the government of Ontario, Canada enacted the Excellent Care for All Act, which set out to create new standards and ensure high-quality health care for its citizens.

As a senior project management consultant for the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Jennifer Quaglietta, BASc, MBA, PMP, took on the challenge of creating a unified and adoptable methodology to implement the new standards in this fast-paced, politically-driven environment. Jennifer's success in this role earned her recognition as PMIEF's 2012 Kerzner Award recipient.

To break through the difficult communication barriers within this vertically-structured organization, Jennifer developed a curriculum to train staff who worked on priority projects using the Excellent Care for All Strategy model and toolkit as the best practice example. Among many lessons learned, Jennifer identified simplicity and flexibility as key.
