The Power of Networking

70 percent of employers felt referred hires fit the company culture and values better.

67 percent of employers said the recruiting process is shorter with referrals.

Referrals have the highest applicant-to-hire conversions, accounting for 40 percent of all hires.

Referral hires have greater job satisfaction and stay longer at companies - 46 percent stay more than one year, 45 percent more than two years and 47 percent more than three years.

EMPLOYERS

Clean Team of Levy County, Inc., Clean Team of Levy County is a family-owned, commercial cleaning business that has been in operation for more than 20 years. Clean Team has been registered with Workforce Connection through the Employ Florida Marketplace since 2008. Earlier this month, owner Linda Scroggins stopped by Workforce Connection's Chiefland office to find out what Workforce could do to help her find someone very quickly. Clean Team was looking for a trustworthy job candidate with reliable transportation who could be bonded, who could start immediately and who was willing to work a second shift.

After discussing Clean Team's specific needs, and following several consultations, Workforce Connection provided a shortlist of five qualified job candidates culminating with a placement. The entire process, from the initial inquiry to the day the employee started work, took seven business days.

Scoggins said Workforce Connection "delivered on what (they) promised." She added that she would not only use Workforce again but that she would recommend the service to other employers. Scroggins also said that Workforce Connection provided the free service in a "prompt manner" which she needed because she was in a hurry to hire.
