Powerful

Networking Opportunity

Make an impact on students who show bright promise in energy, engineering or other STEM-related studies at the College of Central Florida's (CF) Energy Summit on Friday, Nov. 16 from 11:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at CF's Klein Conference Center in Ocala.

During the luncheon you'll hear from Florida Rep. Seth McKeel, member of the House Energy and Utilities Committee, as well as a representative from the Ocala Power Plant.

But the real energy will come from the opportunity for businesses to interact with talented high school students.

The Energy Summit is sponsored by Workforce Connection, Progress Energy and the Ocala Power Plant. There is no charge to attend, and lunch will be provided. To learn more or to RSVP, contact Diana Scroggie at scroggid@cf.edu

EMPLOYERS

Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union's mission is to improve the quality of its members' lives by maintaining a strong, secure and innovative

credit union that builds trust, shows respect and
maximizes efficiency. Suncoast offers free checking, mortgages, vehicle loans, credit cards, student loans, mobile banking, savings and retirement accounts. It recently opened a new branch office in Chiefland - its first in Levy County.

Suncoast Branch Manager Amanda Gibson said the credit union needed to hire four employees to staff the new branch. Gibson said she was connected via referral from another workforce board region.

Gibson said Workforce Connection's Human Resources recruitment specialist, provided her with qualified candidates and "kept in close contact throughout the process, calling me often to touch base and ask if I had any questions or additional needs." In addition, Workforce Connection scheduled the use of a conference room where Gibson's team was able to conduct interviews.

"I was also impressed with the wide array of services Workforce offers the applicants," Gibson said, citing such "valuable resources" as employability training and workshops to sharpen applicants' interview skills, and even a clothes closet with professional outfits to help candidates look their best for interviews.

"Workforce Connection offered professional, valuable and supportive help throughout the hiring process," Gibson said. "I plan on using Workforce for future hiring needs and would highly recommend their services to others - either those looking to hire or those looking for work."
