Congratulations to Brian Decker as he joins the select group of Fellows of the IPPS Eastern Region. The Fellow Award is presented to members who exhibit exemplary service to the Society and to the advancement of the field of propagation and production. The announcement was made at the 64th Annual Meeting of the IPPS Eastern Region in Niagara Falls on September 18th.

IPPS Area Meeting at the New York Botanical Garden:  October 24, 2014
 
You are invited to attend a one day meeting at the New York Botanical Garden on Friday, October 24th. The day includes an excellent line-up of speakers in the morning, lunch in the Garden Terrace Room, and an afternoon guided tour of the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.  Speaker topics include:  the red-headed flea beetle, urban biodiversity, creative overwintering techniques, chemical-free propagation and more.

Bob Geneve Receives Region's top honor:  Award of Merit 

  

Dr. Robert Geneve,University of Kentucky Horticulture Professor, has received the 2014 IPPS Eastern Region Award of Merit, our highest honor. Root-Promoting Products for Vegetative Propagation of Nursery Crops

 

A new Extension publication is the direct result of a question raised during the 2010 IPPS Question Box in Raleigh,NC.  Specifically, what are the options for K-IBA if scientific-grade chemicals cannot be used (against the label use)? Gene Blythe, Cheryl Boyer and graduate student Jason Griffin have worked on this for the past several years and are proud to release the results HERE.
