Celebrating Our Holy Sovereigns

This Sunday, All Saints' will be honoring our Holy Sovereigns, King Kamehameha IV & Queen Emma, during the 9:30 service. Although the actual feast day is in November, it has become a tradition at All Saints' to hold it on the second Sunday of October. Be sure to experience this beautiful service with worship in both English and Hawaiian, presentation of ho'okupu by various Hawaiian Civic organizations, hula and music performances by guest musicians, and a lavish Hawaiian feast to follow. Members are invited to bring Hawaiian food (lomi salmon, chicken long rice, kalua pig, lau lau, haupia, etc.) fruit, salad and any other tropical dishes.
Deadline: Names & Addresses Needed by October 11
ECW Annual Student Care/Love Packages
The women of the ECW will be putting together their annual Care/Love packages for college students in October, and are requesting members to provide the addresses for students they know. Please e-mail Diane Sato names and addresses by Sunday, October 11.

Movie Nights on the Lawn: October 17, 24 & 30
Mark your calendars and get ready for a month of movies on the lawn! Now in its 7th year, Movie Nights on the Lawn continues to serve the community by offering free double-feature movies and a concession that can feed a family of 4 for under $10!  Yup! Dollar dogs, 50 cent popcorn, chili, SPAM musubi and loaded hot chocolate are just some of the ono grinds being served up by the Ke Akua Youth Group.  The movies are a little late this year due to vendor availability, but great movies are in store!  Click on the flyer to view the full-size version, and visit the webpage HERE for more info.
Vestry Report Released

A few weeks ago, the Vestry participated in a retreat at Koke'e State Park, providing the opportunity, time, and space to prayerfully discern and discuss the future of All Saints'. A report has been compiled about the different ministries, activities and programs that were discussed, and will be explored and implemented over the next 16 months. Members are invited to join in the conversation and share your thoughts with the Vestry. Copies of the report have been mailed out to members and are also available to download HERE. Copies are also available in the Church and Church office.
Nursery & Sunday School Volunteers Needed
No Experience Necessary!

The Sunday school program year has begun, and we are still in need of a few more volunteers who are willing to assist our new program leaders in each of the three areas: Nursery (PreK & under), grades K-2, and grades 3-5. Volunteers can choose to participate regularly or on a rotation/on-call basis one Sunday a month. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!  If you like working with children and would like to nurture their faith and knowledge of Jesus and the Bible, please consider joining this wonderful ministry!  Please see Sybil or e-mail her.
All Saintsʻ Preschool Annual Fund Campaign
We invite all to participate in the All Saints' Preschool Annual Fund Campaign for 2015-2016; Beautiful Faces.
The Annual Fund allows the school to enrich the learning environment without increasing its operating budget, thus keeping tuition down. As in most independent schools, All Saints' Preschool's tuition alone does not cover the full cost of providing an exceptional education experience.

All Saints' relies on your annual support to augment our yearly operating budget, and to provide capital enhancements of the school's program and physical plant. 100% of your tax-deductible donation goes directly toward supporting the school's needs and vision. Among the campaign's goals is to cultivate broad support from the All Saints' Church 'Ohana.

Donations can be sent to the Church/Preschool Office or made online. For more information, visit the Annual Fund Website where you can also download a brochure or make a donation.
On-line Volunteer Sign-Ups Available Now!

Laundry Love Kauai (LLK) takes place every first and third Wednesday of the month and is in constant need of volunteers. If you'd like to volunteer, you can now sign-up on-line through the LLK webpage HERE.  Under Volunteer Service Schedules, select a service date and complete the login information that requires an e-mail address.  Not sure what role to sign up for? You can view the different responsibilities in the Operating Manual HERE. Better yet, come on down and take part as a Love Ambassador to help in different areas and see what suits you best!
Worship Enhancements Available!
Dont' forget to ask for a headset or large-print service bulletin! Both items are available through our ushers who will be more than happy to set you up!

The nursery has also been hooked up so that the service can be heard through a speaker in that room. Parents with very young children can now sit and relax with them while they play, and are also able to hear the service.
Blessed Pets!

Okay, so there was just too much cuteness going on this past Sunday at our Blessing of the Animals service, that we couldn't just settle on one picture of the week! Pictured above, Manapua, Daileen's pet piggy, was just too much to resist, and below, Fr. Ryan's "other gal", Nisha, gets a big hug and blessing from dad while mom Erin holds her steady.

Laundry Love Shirts Help Spread the Word
Volunteers donned their new Laundry Love shirts at this week's session with another 60 shirts passed out to patrons. Every time someone wears the shirt in public, it helps to spread the word about Laundry Love--- and the word IS spreading in Hawai'i! Several weeks ago, folks from the Episcopal Church of West O'ahu flew over to check out the operation, and this past week, members from another O'ahu church came to check it out. Remember all are welcome to come share the Laundry Love!
Congratulations David & Bill!
Congratulations to our very own Senior Warden David Murray and partner Bill Brown, who were united in marriage on Saturday, October 3, at All Saints', with Fr. Ryan presiding.

It was a beautiful event, blessed with sunny skies, gentle trades, and lots of love and food to go around!  David and Bill have been together for nearly 30 years, and this special day marks the beginning of many many more years to come!

Pictured at left are Bill and David right after the ceremony, decked in leis from well-wishers. Lighthearted and humorous as always, they said there would be no honeymoon; that they have been on one for over 28 years!

God bless you David and Bill! We wish you continued happiness, joy and love!
Blessing of the Animals

Although dogs are regularly seen attending Sunday worship services at All Saints', celebrating the Feast of St. Francis is a whole 'nother story! This past Sunday, October 4, was our Blessing of the Animals service, and there were dozens of pooches on hand to be blessed by Fr. Ryan.

Dogs of every size, shape and color were on hand, but dogs weren't the only ones being blessed... kitties, stuffed animals, and a pig too! Yes, a pig! Youth group and Vestry member Daileen brought her pig Manapua to be blessed..

Attendees waited patiently in line as each pet (and stuffed animal) was blessed by Fr. Ryan. Those who couldn't bring their pet to the service had pictures of their beloved companions on their phone blessed!

Fr. Ryan also arranged for representatives from the Kauai Community Cat Project to talk about their organization and the work they are doing to help control the population of feral cats. They had a table with a display and some of Fr. Ryan's rescue kitties who are also up for adoption.

The special service was held outdoors in a tent left up from David and Bill's wedding the day before, and was a wonderful change in venue!

The choir was able to perform outside with the help of the Director of Music Ministries' electric piano. Pictured below right, the children sing a special number, All Things Bright and Beautiful, with the help of Hank Curtis. The children learned the song during Sunday school the week before,
