This Sunday, October 4
It's that time of year when we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis, and bless our furry, finned and feathered pets!  Be sure to bring your pet to the 9:30 service this Sunday, October 4, where we will be worshiping under a tent on the lawn. The Sunday school children will be joining in this informal and shortened pet-friendly service... photos and stuffed animals are welcome too!
This Sunday, October 4
Stewardship Committee Meeting
All interested members are invited to attend the next Stewardship Committee Meeting taking place on Sunday, October 4, at 11:00 AM in Memorial Hall. We will begin planning the next year-long stewardship campaign which will be launched on All Saints' Sunday, November 1, 2015.
Vestry Report Released

A few weeks ago, the Vestry participated in a retreat at Koke'e State Park, providing the opportunity, time, and space to prayerfully discern and discuss the future of All Saints'. A report has been compiled about the different ministries, activities and programs that were discussed, and will be explored and implemented over the next 16 months. Members are invited to join in the conversation and share your thoughts with the Vestry. Copies of the report have been mailed out to members and are also available to download HERE. Copies are also available in the Church and Church office.

Celebrating Our Holy Sovereigns

All Saints' has been celebrating our Holy Sovereigns, King Kamehameha IV & Queen Emma, for the past several years during the month of October.  Although the actual feast day is in November, it has become a tradition at All Saints' to hold it on the second Sunday of October, and this year it will be on October 11.  Save the date and be sure to attend this beautiful service and reception afterwards.

graphic-windy-presents.gif
The women of the ECW will be putting together their annual Care/Love packages for college students in October, and are requesting members to provide the addresses for students they know. Please e-mail Diane Sato names and addresses by Sunday, October 11.
Laundry Love Shirts are Available for Pick-up!
Laundry Love Shirts have arrived and will be available for pick up in the Church office or at the next Laundry Love session on October 7. Payment can be made by check or cash and either mailed or placed in the offering plate. Cash should be in a marked envelope with your full name, and checks should contain the memo line: "Laundry Love Shirts". If you did not pre-order a shirt but are interested in purchasing or sponsoring one for a Laundry Love patron, please see Fr. Ryan.
Nursery & Sunday School Volunteers Needed
No Experience Necessary!

The Sunday school program year has begun, and we are still in need of a few more volunteers who are willing to assist our new program leaders in each of the three areas: Nursery (PreK & under), grades K-2, and grades 3-5. Volunteers can choose to participate regularly or on a rotation/on-call basis one Sunday a month. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!  If you like working with children and would like to nurture their faith and knowledge of Jesus and the Bible, please consider joining this wonderful ministry!  Please see Sybil or e-mail her.
Disposable Diapers Requested for Hale Ho'omalu
The ECW is requesting disposable baby diapers as part of their monthly special collection for Hale Ho'omalu, a family services center located a half-block away from the church.  Of course canned and packaged foods are always welcome. Monetary donations can also be made. All donations can be left in the red wagon at the church entrance.
Save the dates!
Movie Nights on the Lawn Coming in October
Mark your calendars and get ready for a month of movies on the lawn! Now in its 7th year, Movie Nights on the Lawn continues to serve the community by offering free double-feature movies and a concession that can feed a family of 4 for under $10!  Yup! Dollar dogs, 50 cent popcorn, chili, SPAM musubi and loaded hot chocolate are just some of the ono grinds being served up by the Ke Akua Youth Group.  The movies are a little late this year due to vendor availability, but great movies are in store!  Click on the flyer to view the full-size version, and visit the webpage HERE for more info.
All Saintsʻ Preschool Annual Fund Campaign
We invite all to participate in the All Saints' Preschool Annual Fund Campaign for 2015-2016; Beautiful Faces.

The Annual Fund allows the school to enrich the learning environment without increasing its operating budget, thus keeping tuition down. As in most independent schools, All Saints' Preschool's tuition alone does not cover the full cost of providing an exceptional education experience.

All Saints' relies on your annual support to augment our yearly operating budget, and to provide capital enhancements of the school's program and physical plant. 100% of your tax-deductible donation goes directly toward supporting the school's needs and vision. Among the campaign's goals is to cultivate broad support from the All Saints' Church 'Ohana.

Donations can be sent to the Church/Preschool Office or made online. For more information, visit the Annual Fund Website where you can also download a brochure or make a donation.
On-line Volunteer Sign-Ups Available Now!

Laundry Love Kauai (LLK) takes place every first and third Wednesday of the month and is in constant need of volunteers. If you'd like to volunteer, you can now sign-up on-line through the LLK webpage HERE.  Under Volunteer Service Schedules, select a service date and complete the login information that requires an e-mail address.  Not sure what role to sign up for? You can view the different responsibilities in the Operating Manual HERE. Better yet, come on down and take part as a Love Ambassador to help in different areas and see what suits you best!
Worship Enhancements Available!
Dont' forget to ask for a headset or large-print service bulletin! Both items are available through our ushers who will be more than happy to set you up!

The nursery has also been hooked up so that the service can be heard through a speaker in that room. Parents with very young children can now sit and relax with them while they play, and are also able to hear the service.
PICTURE OF THE WEEK:
Pocahantas!

Church Administrator Chris Wataya hammed it up at the Preschool's play this week. Dressed as Pocahantas, Chris drummed up her "inner Indian" to keep students entertained.

Proper 22
Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray, and to give more than we either desire or deserve: Pour upon us the abundance of your mercy,
forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid,
and giving us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ our Savior; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
