Saturday Market: Summer Safety & Service
Bring your E-Waste too!
This month's Saturday Market & Swap Meet theme is on Safety, and we are excited to have our first responders come together at the August 8 Saturday Market!
Of course we will have our usual array of talented crafters, but there will also be officers from the Kauai Police, Fire, Ocean Safety and CERT with interactive exhibits and displays.
There will be classes on CPR and fire extinguishers (ever wonder if you could use one in an emergency?) and information on setting up a Neighborhood Watch program and awareness on scammers! For keiki, Sparky the firedog's 40-foot trailer home will be here with live action fire simulation and fire safety education! Learn about ocean safety and emergency preparedness in times of disaster!!!
SPREAD THE WORD!!! Bring the whole family down for a day of learning, shopping, and yes, relaxation too... our step massagers will be on hand! While you're at it, bring down your E-WASTE! Cece Caldwell will be on hand with her truck to collect your E-Waste!
For more information, or if you are interested in becoming a vendor, visit the Saturday Market webpage HERE.

Volunteer Sign Up Sheets at Sunday Services!
If you'd like to volunteer for Laundry Love Kauai that takes place every first and third Wednesdays of the month, sign-up in the Laundry Love Manual that will be on the entrance table during Sunday services. Folks can sign up to volunteer for specific dates and roles on the volunteer sign-up sheets, and also peruse the operating instructions that contain the responsibilities for each role.
A few volunteers have already decided which roles they like best, and others are still trying out different areas. Even if all roles are taken on a specific date you are interested in helping at, please show up and help as a Love Ambassador. (There is no limit to the number of Love Ambassadors at any session.) These are our all-around workers who not only interact with patrons, but are key to the smooth flow of the operation, transferring laundry from one area to another. Love Ambassadors are especially needed to help with folding and bagging when a load is done.
All are welcome to take part in this rewarding outreach ministry. For more information, visit the LLK webpage HERE. |
Vestry Minutes Now Available Online
With the goal of greater transparency, the All Saints' Vestry will publish the approved "Meeting Minutes of the Vestry" on the All Saints' website, Leadership page.

Worship Enhancements Available!
Dont' forget to ask for a headset or large-print service bulletin! Both items are available through our ushers who will be more than happy to set you up!
The nursery has also been hooked up so that the service can be heard through a speaker in that room. Parents with very young children can now sit and relax with them while they play, and are also able to hear the service.

Aloha & God's Blessings to Noah
At the traditional Senior Sunday on August 2, we said aloha to Noah La Madrid who departs for George Fox University in Oregon on August 12. He is pictured with former youth who are also heading back to college over the next couple weeks, from left: Alanna Bauman (Cal Lutheran), Cassie Wilson (George Fox) and Joni Hashizume (University of Hawaii). |

Senior Sunday: Preparing Noah for College
Senior Sunday has been a tradition for several years, when we bless and say aloha to our graduating seniors who are leaving for college. After last year's big exit of seniors, we are relieved that we will say aloha to only one. Noah LaMadrid graduated from Kapa'a High School and will be heading to George Fox University in Oregon next week. He has been an important leader and volunteer with the Ke Akua Youth Group and will be sorely missed. Pictured at top, fellow youth members and college students on summer break (ex-youth members) "dress" Noah up in the Armor of God", local college-style! God bless you and keep you safe Noah! Thank you for all of your service to the community!
Everyone enjoyed a great Aloha Hour afterwards including Fr.Ryan's family who is visiting from California (a few pictured below left). It is reported that they filled up two pews at the 9:30 service! Fr. Wil Gafney (sans crutches) is getting a lot done during her summer visit; members enjoy goodies and cake.
