There will also be grilled veggies, fruit, potato salad, salad fixings, pie and ice cream, coffee, juice, Mimosas and root beer floats!

The Rev. Wil Gafney Returns to Kaua'i
For the past several years, the Rev. Wil Gafney has come to Kaua'i, spending time with the All Saints' 'ohana as she writes, relaxes or works, and she has returned again! Father Wil (which she prefers to be called) will be staying in the Rectory cottage for the next two months, focusing on her scholarly writings, and will participate in services as her schedule permits.
Father Wil is an Associate Professor at Brite Divinity School School in Fort Worth, TX, and author of several books. Hale Lani currently carries her People's Bible and People's Companion to the Bible.
Welcome back Father Wil! |
Volunteer Sign Up Sheets at Sunday Services!
Beginning this Sunday, the Laundry Love Kauai Manual will be on the entrance table during services. Folks can sign up to volunteer for specific dates and roles on the volunteer sign-up sheets, and also peruse the operating instructions that contain the responsibilities for each role.
A few volunteers have already decided which roles they like best, and others are still trying out different areas. Even if all roles are taken on a specific date you are interested in helping at, please show up and help as a Love Ambassador. (There are no limit to the number of Love Ambassadors at any session.) These are our all-around workers who not only interact with patrons, but are key to the smooth flow of the operation, transferring laundry from one area to another. Love Ambassadors are especially needed to help with folding and bagging when a load is done.
All are welcome to take part in this rewarding outreach ministry. For more information, visit the LLK webpage HERE. |

Our 10th annual Fun In Fellowship Dodgeball Tournament is coming up on July 24 & 25, with practices starting up on Tuesday, July 7. This year, we are ordering up special trophies, shirts, awards and prizes, to commemorate 10 years of fun and fellowship that this event has provided to our community.

All Creatures Great & Small at July Saturday Market!
Our July Saturday Market and Swap Meet will be all about animals and our pets, and we are currently working with the Kauai Humane Society to bring some pups for adoption. Along with our regular line-up of fabulous crafters, we are seeking vendors with animal services and items to participate for free, that could include pet sitters, trainers, groomers, pet treats, fish breeders & aquariums, birds, and most anything to do with all creatures great and small! Free spaces are limited, so sign up or inquire early. For more information, visit the webpage HERE, or to register, click HERE.
FOOD VENDORS WANTED! We are also looking for food/coffee vendors that will make the Saturday Market a regular site. If you know of any potential food vendors, please share the word and have them visit our webpage HERE, or e-mail halelani@hawaiiantel.net.
POP-UP TENTS AVAILABLE FOR RENT! The church has made available a couple pop-up tents that vendors may rent for $10. We are offering this option for new vendors that may want to "test the waters" before purchasing a tent of their own. These go fast, so requests should be made early.

Worship Enhancements Available!
Dont' forget to ask for a headset or large-print service bulletin! Both items are available through our ushers who will be more than happy to set you up!
The nursery has also been hooked up so that the service can be heard through a speaker in that room. Parents with very young children can now sit and relax with them while they play, and are also able to hear the service.

WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING AT ALL SAINTS':

Busy Church Work Day!
It was a productive Church Workday on June 27, as members gathered bright and early to clean, sort, shovel, water, dust, and shine. Pictured above, Marge Akana tackles the gym restrooms, Courtney Kostka shines up the windows; Mary Smith, Chris Wataya, Cece Caldwell with grandson William, and Jan Hashizume took on the mammoth job of emptying out the Healing Chapel to clean and sort through things; Wayne Doliente and Fr. Ryan filled up the dips and holes in the lawn with soil and transplanted grass; Pam Sokei and Diane Sato stayed overtime to straighten up Hale Lani.
Below, Nora Takenouchi and Edith Hashizume clean up the Sacristy; hard workers take a break; Cece Caldwell and Bill Brown take a quick break from work to greet each other; Chris Kostka chats with Geoff Shields in what will be the new music office in the gym. Mahalo to everyone that showed up to help keep the property smiling!

Heavenly Hikes Hits Anapalau

June's Heavenly Hikes took folks north off the Kealia Beach path past Donkey Beach, to Anapalau Point. Nearly 35 hikers met up at the parking lot after the second service on Sunday, June 28, to enjoy the picture perfect day. When they reached Anapalau, a beautiful little cove awaited the group as they hit the crystal clear waters to cool off.
Heavenly Hikes takes place monthly on the last Sunday, after the second service. To learn more and view slideshows from previous hikes, visit the Heavenly Hikes webpage HERE. |
