Regional Confirmation Service at All Saints'
On Saturday, May 23, 2015, All Saints' will host the Regional Confirmation Service for the island of Kaua'i, celebrated with Bishop Robert Fitzpatrick. This annual service brings together all the Episcopal Churches on the island that include Christ Memorial, St. Michael and All Angels and the Episcopal Churches of West Kaua'i. Although All Saints' has no candidates this year, be sure to attend this special service that will include great music, worship, fellowship, and the celebration of the newly confirmed, received or reaffirmed. Flowers Needed to decorate Cemetary & Columbarium, plus a POTLUCK!
flower-bunch.jpg The Sunday school will be doing its annual cleaning and decorating of the graves and Columbarium this Sunday, May 24, during the 9:30 service.  We are asking members to kindly bring flowers and greenery that will be used for the decorations.  Large flowers will be used for the graves, and smaller flowers will be used for the niches in the Columbarium. Flowers may be left by the sink between the Columbarium and graveyard on Sunday.

And as if we needed an excuse to fellowship and eat, we will also have a potluck celebration following the 9:30 service.  Bring your favorite dish to share!
Get your RED on!
Pentecost Sunday, May 24
Pentecost
Coming up this Sunday is Pentecost Sunday which marks the end of the Easter Season.  The Church will be dressed in red as we celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit on the disciples of Jesus after his Ascension, held on the seventh Sunday after Easter. So put on your red for this Sunday's services!
Prize drawing postponed until THIS Sunday!
Have you completed your Church Member Profile Form?
All Saints' is updating its member profiles and the original deadline to get member profile forms in for a chance has since been postponed from May 17 to THIS SUNDAY, May 24!!! So it's not too late! Mail or bring your completed form in by this Sunday so your name can be put into the basket!

Forms will continue to be accepted even after the drawing. Be sure to take a moment to complete the form that will be used to update information we may already have on file, and to fill in other information that we don't have such as your contact information, birth date, baptism/confirmation dates, etc. If for some reason you did not receive a form, please let Chris Wataya know by e-mailing her, or call the church office at 822-4267.  Mail or drop your completed form off at the office.

Graduating Senior: Noah LaMadrid
Congratulations!!!
All Saints' Ke Akua Youth Group member, Noah LaMadrid, will be graduating from Kapa'a High School on Friday, May 29, 2015.  Noah has been an active member for the past several years, and was a part of the Hawai'i delegation that went to Philadelphia last summer for EYE'14 and Urban Mission. In school, he served as President of the Interact Club, the largest community service group of the school, and was also a stand out in sports that included football, soccer and track. In the fall, he will be heading to George Fox University in Oregon, joining up with several of his soccer teammates. We wish Noah well and God's continued presence and blessings in his life.
Heavenly Hikes Return to Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail
The next Heavenly Hikes will take place on Sunday, May 31. We return to the South shore in Poipu, to the beautiful Maha'ulepu Heritage Trail.  The hike is easy and totals 4 miles round trip.

Hikers can plan to meet at church at 11:30 AM after the second service to caravan or carpool, or meet at the parking lot at Shipwreck's Beach, just past the entrance to the Grand Hyatt Hotel at 12:15 PM. Bring water, sunscreen, a hat and snack or light lunch.
New Ministry to Kick-off on June 17

All Saints' newest outreach ministry will be kicking off on Wednesday, June 17, at the Kapa'a Laundromat.  All Saints' has partnered up with the nationwide nonprofit organization, Laundry Love, to provide laundry service to our community. Volunteers will be ready and waiting with quarters, detergent, dryer sheets and a big smile, as we help folks do their laundry.  Although the ministry is intended to help those who are struggling and need a helping hand, all are welcome!

Twelve years ago, the idea for Laundry Love was sparked from a conversation with a homeless man in Ventura County, CA. "If I had clean clothes I think people would treat me like a human being."  From this simple statement, Laundry Love was born and has now spread across the nation, offering laundry services to the poor and homeless.

Kapa'a Laundromat is located in the Kapa'a Shopping Center behind the Shell Service Station and next to Ace Hardware.  This service will be offered twice a month, on the first and third Wednesdays of the month during evening hours.  Volunteers will offer to wash, dry and fold laundry to all who come, and spend some time to get to know our neighbors better.  Details are being finalized.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: If you would like to volunteer in this ministry, a sign-up sheet will be available at the Church entrance table, or fill out the form on the new webpage HERE. Orientation at the laundromat is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10 at 7:00 PM, and the first volunteer meeting will be coming up soon!
ONGOING REMINDERS:
Summer Sunday School Volunteers Needed

Sunday, May 31, will be the last day of regular Sunday school for the church year, and Summer Sundays will begin. If you enjoy working with children, we could use your help! We are looking for a few volunteers to help with Summer Sundays on a rotation basis during the months of June, July and August. Instead of regular Bible lessons, Summer Sundays will involve Christian crafts, games and Bible story-time. No experience necessary. If you are interested, please see Sybil or e-mail her at halelani@hawaiiantel.net.

The Day of Pentecost: Whitsunday

Almighty God, on this day you opened the way of eternal life to every race and nation by the promised gift of your Holy Spirit: Shed abroad this gift throughout the world by the preaching of the Gospel, that it may reach to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Amen.
