January 24 - Come on Down!
BIG WORK DAY THIS SATURDAY

There's a lot to do this Saturday at our monthly work day!  Please come and lend a hand anytime between 8:00 AM - Noon. On the list:
  • Installing a new door on the gym & general cleaning of the building and the kitchen
  • Clean church windows
  • Work on the bell tower
  • Work in the Peace Garden
  • Light pruning of trees
  • Putting our Nativity Scene back in storage
  • Set-up tent and move tables in preparation for Sunday's breakfast and refreshments

Many hands make light work, so come on down, do a little work, enjoy light refreshments, talk story, and enjoy God's creation!

This Sunday, January 25
ANNUAL MEETING & BREAKFAST POTLUCK
This year's Annual Meeting will be held between the two services on Sunday, January 25, from 8:00 AM - 9:15 AM. There will be a breakfast potluck to kick-off the meeting, so feel free to bring some sort of breakfast item to share!

Information on the candidates for the Vestry, Delegates to Convention and Junior Warden, should be posted on the website by Saturday evening. Look for the link on the home page of our website. Late nominations will be accepted but will not be included on the website or in the info packet being distributed at the meeting.

Be sure to attend! Along with the regular orders of business, Fr. Ryan will be sharing the Church's vision for the future and the meeting will close with the annual video.
Heavenly Hikes this Sunday, January 25

Heavenly Hikes will be taking place this Sunday, January 25, after the second service. Although the location is still being determined as of this writing, it will be announced during Sunday services...so bring your shoes, sunscreen, water and snacks, and be prepared to hike! As usual, hikers can meet at church during the Aloha Hour, and will head out at around 11:30 AM.

Celebrating the Life of Louise Yates
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Louise Yates. Louise, a long-time member who served in various roles throughout the years, had been in a long battle with cancer. She passed away on January 16, surrounded by loved ones. Louise had recently retired from her job at Wilcox Hospital and Clinical Labs Hawaii as a pathology transcriptionist, working for as long as her health would allow. She loved to work with flowers and plants and would often be seen quietly tending to them on property.

A Celebration of Louise's Life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at 10:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Private inurnment and refreshments will follow. Please keep her daughters, Monica and Marci, and their families in your prayers.
Whale Watching Cruise

So far, it's been an active year for our migrating whales, and All Saints' is happy to announce a special arrangement with Blue Dolphin Charters. Member Danny Bernal, who works for Blue Dolphin, has arranged special pricing for a tour on Saturday, January 31, with check-in at 4:00 PM. The cost is only $51. Space is limited. Interested persons should e-mail David Murray for details and to reserve a spot.
Bishop's Scholarships and Grants through the Diocese
The Diocese recently announced that the Bishop's Scholarship Funds are now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 school year, as well as the 1% Diocesan Council Grants.

The Bishop's Scholarship Fund is for baptized members entering an Episcopal Church-related school in the Diocese of Hawai'i for the first time, limited to kindergarten to grade 12.  The Chang Clergy Children's Scholarship Fund is for children of clergy under the age of 24. 2015 Relay for Life Fundraising
Once again, the Ke Akua Youth Group and ECW are teaming up to raise funds for the American Cancer Society, and participating in this year's Relay for Life at Hanapepe.  Stay tuned for our upcoming fundraisers including luminaria sales. Food Collections for Hale Ho'omalu
canned goods
Food collections continue for Hale Ho'omalu, a family services center located a half-block away from the church.  Donations of canned and packaged goods are welcome as well as monetary gifts. All donations can be left in the red wagon at the church entrance every Sunday.

Coming up in February, the ECW will be begin their special collections of toothpaste, toothbrushes and deodorant.
Worship Enhancements Available!
All Saints' has portions of the service bulletin in large-size print to make reading along with the service easier for those who prefer it. There are also a few headsets available that will help folks hear the service more clearly, or for those in the back rows that might have a hard time understanding or hearing what is being said. Both items are available through our ushers who will be more than happy to set you up!

The nursery has also been hooked up so that the service can be heard through a speaker in that room. Parents with very young children can now sit and relax with them while they play, and are also able to hear the service.
