IMPORTANT REMINDER!
GIFT CARDS NEEDED!

Deadline is this Sunday, December 14
Please help bring smiles to a family in need this Christmas and donate a gift card! The ECW is asking for donations of gift cards for their Christmas outreach to Hale Ho'omalu.

ANY AMOUNT IS WELCOME! The gift cards can be for any amount. It was previously suggested that the cards be at least $25, but any amount ($10, $15, $20) is welcome from popular retailers such as Foodland, Safeway, Times/Big Save, WalMart, Long's, etc. Gift cards are a great option so that families in need can shop for specific items.

The gift cards will be put together with a Christmas ornament, so ornament donations are also welcome. There will be a specially marked box in the red food wagon in front of the church for these donations. Deadline is this Sunday, December 14.

Members can continue to donate other canned and packaged goods as well as monetary gifts. Hale Ho'omalu is a family services center located a half-block away from the church.

The Caldwell's will be doing their next monthly e-Waste run on Saturday, December 13. Be sure to bring down your electronic waste to the church, and leave your items on the patio in the back of the gym. E-waste includes items such as tvs, stereos, computers, printers, etc., but please DO NOT bring appliances such as microwaves and fans. There is a box to dispose of batteries. To view the list of acceptable items for disposal, visit the County's Recycle site HERE

In a recent article in the Garden Island, the importance of e-waste recycling was explained, and how toxic it is to our the land. It is vital to avoid putting the heavy metals and other hazardous components out of our landfills to prevent further contamination. You can read the article HERE.

'Ohana Game Night: December 20
By Bill Caldwell, Stewardship Chair

The Stewardship Committee will be sponsoring a number of events throughout the coming program year, all events linked to the overall program theme of Beautiful (see the pamphlet delivered with your pledge card). Each quarter we will focus on a specific aspect of the Beautiful theme. The first quarter of the Program Year (October 2014 - December 2014) is devoted to the Beautiful 'Ohana.  To quote the pamphlet:

God calls us by name because we are God's children. All Saints' is blessed with a beautiful 'Ohana that comes together for worship, fellowship, education, spiritual growth, and outreach. During our quarterly focus on the 'Ohana, we will celebrate and strengthen the bonds that gather us together as an All Saints' 'Ohana and as the beautiful family of God

The All Saints' 'Ohana Game Night, scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM in the gym, is an important opportunity to put the above words into action. Let's have fun! We invite all members of the All Saints' 'Ohana, including Pre-school families, to a two-hour pizza and game party. The Stewardship Committee will provide salad, pizza and non-alcoholic beverages as well as logistical support to make this happen.

We invite everyone to bring their favorite game to the event. No video games, but board games and card games are welcome. We would like to encourage all members of our church 'ohana, young and young at heart, to come out for a couple of hours of fun and fellowship. (Free fun and food. How can you beat that deal?).

REMINDER:  If you haven't turned in your pledge card or photos yet, it's never too late! You can place your pledge cards and pictures in the offering plate on Sunday, or mail or drop it off at the office. For more information on the Beautiful campaign, visit the Stewardship webpage HERE.

Ke Akua Youth Group Christmas Party

Immediately following the Mahelona Christmas Caroling, the youth will head back to the Church for their annual potluck Christmas party! All former youth members in college are invited to attend along with any interested youth in middle school and high school. Parents are welcome to stay for dinner. For those staying for the after-dinner fun and games, please be sure to RSVP Aunty Sybil via e-mail, or call 651-7773.
Worship Enhancements Now Available!
All Saints' now has portions of the service bulletin in large-size print to make reading along with the service easier for those who prefer it. There are also a few headsets available that will help folks hear the service more clearly, or for those in the back rows that might have a hard time understanding or hearing what is being said. Both items are available through our ushers who will be more than happy to set you up!

The nursery has also been hooked up so that the service can be heard through a speaker in that room. Parents with very young children can now sit and relax with them while they play, and are also able to hear the service.

Third Sunday of Advent

Stir up your power, O Lord, and with great might come
among us; and, because we are sorely hindered by our sins, let your bountiful grace and mercy speedily help and deliver us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and for ever. Amen.

WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING AT ALL SAINTS'?:
Another Blessed Holiday Craft Fair!

This year's Holiday Craft Fair was held on Saturday, December 6, and once again, we were blessed with beautiful weather, happy vendors and shoppers who were out in force! Parking was at a premium as folks battled for spaces that ran down blocks away!

The craft fair, which is the Ke Akua Youth Group's largest fundraiser of the year, raised record numbers for their different charities. The silent auction brought in nearly $1,000 that will be split between The Red Cross, the ALS Association, and the River of Life Mission in Honolulu. The food booth raised over $800, matched by the ECW's bake sale that will be going to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in April 2015. The youth and ECW ladies are already looking forward to the event, and with a $1,600 kickstart, they are well on their way to reaching new fundraising goals!

Another big portion of their fundraising comes from the booth spaces. Prices range from $35 - $60 depending on location. This was the largest fair to date with 73 booth spaces, and the quality and variety of products were truly the finest you will find on the island. And the blessings continue--- although booth spaces to members are free, they still made generous donations either through the silent auction, a percentage of sales, or just because... yup... so blessed!

Despite the loss of five youth members who graduated this year, the younger members all stepped up to the plate and did a fabulous job setting up, breaking down and servicing everyone. But they couldn't have done it without the help of their parents, uncles & aunties, grandmas and grandpas, and extended 'ohana... another huge blessing was to see so many supportive members come out to help, especially the ladies of the ECW, and parents whose children have already graduated!

Mahalo nui loa to all for making this such a
wonderful and successful event!

Ryan making sure to get some bids in; vendors included Morris Wise and his delicious bakery items, Mary Margaret Smith whose adorable crocheted animals caught everyone's attention including Jayden and Mom Robin; youth member Daileen and her family's holiday crafts, and Kent Frank and Joe Adorno with their incredible quilts; the youth group recycled campaign signs for the fair and made time for pizza; moms & grandmas prepared forms for the event the night before; and below, the men folk broke down the tents quickly after the event.  Photos by Marge Akana and Sybil Nishioka)
