A message from Fr. Ryan:
A New Music Ministry Aloha All Saints' 'Ohana,
This Sunday, June 29th, we welcome a candidate for the Director of Music Ministries position, Hope Solanis. Hope will serve as the organist at the 9:30AM service. During the Offertory, Hope will also share an original piece of music written specifically for the day. On Saturday, Hope will have a private audition and interview with the Search Committee. The committee, being chaired by Curtis Shiramizu, includes Bill Caldwell, Linda Crocker, David Murray, Victor Punua, Jr., Mary Schulz, Chris Wataya, and Morris Wise.
Hope is an experienced Church musician, music educator, and composer. In Hope's own words: "I've been a church musician since before I could talk. At age 3, I would come home from church and 'sound out' our closing hymn on my Grandmother's Steinway piano. I studied piano, organ and harp growing up, attending the Performing Arts School in Louisville, KY and then headed to New York City."
Hope has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition from the Manhattan School of Music, and did continuing studies in piano at Juilliard. Hope has been an accompanist, composer and orchestration assitant for Broadway shows. She has traveled and performed original songs around the world, which included living in Sydney, Australia and Paris, France, teaching children music in India, studying sound healing with the Dali Lama's Chantmaster and living on the Big Island and Kauai. Most recently, Hope has served numerous congregations in the Massachusetts while also writing and recording her own music.
Please welcome Hope! Our prayers are with Hope and the Search Committee as they discern God's will.
In Christ,

July Summer Fair & Swap Meet
Saturday, July 12
Organizers of the First Saturday Markets are currently re-evaluating the monthly event, and have cancelled July's market. We will instead hold a special Summer Fair and Swap Meet on Saturday, July 12. Pricing for vendors is only $10!!! Be sure to spread the word!!! Interested vendors can contact the church office at 822-4267, or e-mail allsaintskauai@hawaiiantel.net.
We are currently going through the legal process to change our first Saturday market to a more flexible day of the month so that we are not competing with other venues on that very busy first Saturday in Kapa'a. We will keep you posted and hopefully be able to resume our markets in August! |
Fun Summer Sundays have started!
The official Sunday school year has ended, and normally we take a break until Homecoming Sunday in September. However, there have been requests for some sort of child care during the second service, so we are offering a fun Summer Sunday class in Memorial Hall where children can enjoy Bible related crafts and games. If you would like to help with the class, please see or e-mail Sybil. Volunteers can choose to serve every Sunday or rotate to serve just a few times--- we are FLEXIBLE!!!

Proper 8
Almighty God, you have built your Church upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone: Grant us so to be joined together in unity of spirit by their teaching, that we may be made a holy temple acceptable to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen..
