New Music Ministry

Aloha All Saints' 'Ohana,
At the beginning of the year, a group from All Saints' had an opportunity to work with The Reverend Bill Tully, the highly respected Church consultant and Rector Emeritus at St. Bart's in New York City. Rev. Bill challenged the All Saints' group to strengthen and grow our music ministries. As a result of that workshop in February, the Vestry began a series of discussions focused on the future of our music ministries.
This past Tuesday during our June meeting, and after a great deal of prayer and discussion, the Vestry made a bold and thoughtful decision to begin the search process for a Director of Music Ministries. In partnership with All Saints' Preschool, this new role will focus on such areas as enhancing our worship music experience, enlivening our choral music program, developing a greater music ministry with children and youth, offering music education in the Preschool, establishing a monthly community concert series at All Saints', and creating community music outreach initiatives such as a summer music camp. The target start date for the role is August 1, 2014, and we have begun the process to identify candidates.
As we begin to look toward the future, we will also have an opportunity to celebrate and honor the ministry of Joyce Anglemyer culminating with an extravaganza on Sunday, July 27, at the 9:30 AM service. Joyce has passionately and faithfully served as All Saints' organist for a number of years. She has shared her many gifts and talents in music and has been an advocate for the expansion and cultivation of our music ministries. We are forever grateful for her years of dedicated service and her husband Richard's support and willingness to share Joyce with the All Saints' 'ohana.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will keep the congregation updated on the search process and share with you in greater detail the Vestry's vision. For now, we ask for your prayers of Thanksgiving for Joyce's ministry and also prayers for the Holy Spirit to guide us through this wonderful and joyous opportunity of growth and praise.
