Christmas Message from Fr. Ryan:
Dear All Saints' 'Ohana,

Mele Kalikimaka! Ke Akua ho'omaika'i 'oukou!
Merry Christmas! May the blessing of God be with you!

It is hard to believe that at this time, a year ago, Erin and I had just been formally invited to Kauai by the All Saints' Search Committee for a final round of interviews at the Church. A year later, and a half-year into our ministry at All Saints', we continue to be filled with great joy that God has called us into this wonderful 'Ohana.

In only a few days, our community will gather together to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior. The Christmas liturgy, and the entire Christmas season, is a beautiful and moving spiritual experience, which honors the humble and magnificent origin of Jesus Christ. Our worship seeks to connect us to the incarnational transformation that took place over two thousand years ago in a meek stable in Bethlehem where God's very nature and character were gloriously revealed in the world by way of flesh and blood. On that silent and holy night in Bethlehem, God shared in our humanity and opened the pathway to our redemption. In celebrating our Savior's birth, we also have the amazing opportunity to rejoice in our rebirth as children of God. With the same fear and excitement of a child taking their first steps, I pray our faith journeys will continue to embrace the humility, curiosity, and compassion that illuminated from the manger laying at the feet of Mary and Joseph.

Christmas is a wonderful time to invite a family member, friend, colleague, or even a stranger to All Saints'. It is a true gift to share God's love and the celebration of our King with others. Many of our loved ones are seeking a message of hope and a community of love, but are afraid to ask and/or to seek it out. A simple invitation to experience Christmas Eve or Christmas Day at All Saints' could forever change someone's life-just as Christmas has already transformed our lives!

Mahalo for all the love, support, prayers, and time you offer to the All Saints' 'Ohana. It is through your generosity and dedication that All Saints' continues to thrive as a center of spiritual formation, family-centered ministries, social activism, and community outreach.

May God in Christ richly bless you, all those whom you love, and all whom you are called to serve in God's name, in this holy season and always.

Faithfully in the name of our Great Emmanuel,

The Reverend Ryan D. Newman

What's been happening...
Christmas Caroling at Mahelona
The All Saints' 'ohana was in full force this past Sunday, December 16, as nearly 30 members showed up for an evening of caroling at Mahelona Hospital. Dressed in red and green, musicians and singers strolled through the hallways singing merrily with ukulele, guitars and even a full-size bass in hand! Many thanks to Mahelona volunteer and church member Molly Koskela who greeted the group and took us around, and to all the members of All Saints' who took the time to share some joy and cheer with the residents at Mahelona! Visit the All Saints' Facebook page to view photos of the evening!

Ke Akua Youth Group Christmas Party

The KeAkua Youth Group gathered together after Christmas caroling for their annual Christmas party. Lots of laughter, food and fellowship were shared as the youth built snowmen, wracked their brains in Christmas games, and opened their traditional Secret Santa gifts. A couple of past members who returned from college also joined in, and it was a great time to just hang and laugh after a year of hard work and community service. Thank you to Fr. Ryan and Dr. Erin for opening up the Rectory doors and to all the parents who support their youth whole-heartedly!
