Greetings!

A message from Bishop Fitzpatrick
Prayer for Boston

Bishop head With news from Boston, please pray for all those immediately impacted -- especially those killed and their families, and those injured. I also ask that everyone offer a prayer for protection in this time of confusion and anxiety:

Assist us mercifully, O Lord, in these our supplications and prayers, and dispose the way of your servants towards the attainment of everlasting salvation; that, among all the changes and chances of this mortal life, they may ever be defended by your gracious and ready help; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

The Rt. Rev. Robert L. Fitzpatrick, Bishop
The Episcopal Diocese of Hawai'i and

The Episcopal Church in Micronesia

St. Damien Film Showing at St. Michael's:
An Uncommon Kindness, a film by Stephanie Castillo

Damien movieThe award-winning film about St. Damien's life will be screened at St. Michael's in celebration of his compassionate work among Hawaii's leprosy victims in the late 1890's. Narrated by famed actor Robin Williams, the hour-long film will be presented by its filmmaker, Stephanie J. Castillo, with two showings on Saturday, April 20, at 4:00 pm and on Sunday, April 21, 8:30 am with services following each showing celebrating St. Damien's Feast Day.

"This timeless story speaks to us about compassionate love and how we must ask, in the spirit of Damien, who can I help, who can I serve," says Castillo, who made the film in 2003. It has never been shown on television in Hawaii and was shown only one time on Kauai. The film will screen at the St. Michael's Goodale Conference Room. Come early, seating is limited. For more information, call St. Michael's at 245-3796.

Are you ready to blossom in stewardship?  Are you looking to plant the seeds of faithful giving in your congregation and diocese? Do you want to network with others passionate about generosity and discipleship? If so, be sure to register for the 2013 TENS Flourish in Faith Stewardship Conference on July 12-13 at the Episcopal Commons of Utah, in Salt Lake City.

For the first time, select workshops will be offered live through the internet. The webcast registration package is only $75. To view the conference flyer and webcast workshop package, click HERE.

The conference is designed to offer congregational and diocesan stewardship teams theological, scriptural and practical aspects of stewardship formation and annual giving.  Keynote speakers Sister Joan Chittister and Bishop Bruce Caldwell from the Episcopal Diocese of Wyoming will explore: what does it mean to flourish in our faith? How do we find our ground of faith? Is it rooted in a God of abundance, or do we let our faith wither in a culture of scarcity?

To learn more about the conference and to register, visit the TENS website HERE
