Rev. Ryan Newman & Dr. Erin Newman Visit All Saints'!
All Saints' members got to meet the Search Committee's candidate and his wife this past Sunday, January 20, at both services. Rev. Ryan Douglas Newman, who is currently serving as Chaplain and Director of Operations at Campbell Hall in Southern California, arrived on Thursday, January 17, and was able to drop in on the choir and ECW during their Thursday evening meetings. His five days on Kaua'i were filled with activity and lots of mileage! Rev. Ryan's wife, Dr. Erin Newman, was able to squeeze in a 36-hour visit from her busy schedule as a doctor in Los Angeles, and we were so grateful for the opportunity to meet her too.
Both the Vestry and Rev. Ryan will be in a period of prayerful discernment. Canon Liz will be meeting with the Vestry on Saturday, January 26, 2013, for further discernment and a decision should follow shortly thereafter.
The following is a note from Rev. Ryan & Dr. Erin to the whole All Saints' family:
Dear All Saints' Family,
Aloha! Erin and I would like to extend our sincerest thank you for your gracious and spirit-filled hospitality. We greatly enjoyed our time together with the All Saints' community. In our brief time, we fell in love with the 'Uhane and Po'e. We would like to offer a special mahalo to Jan Hashizume, David Murray and Dianne Tabura, for all they have done for us throughout the search process. The All Saints' community will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
Mahalo nui loa. Ke Akua ho'omaika'i 'oukou! A hui hou kakou...
Me ke aloha pumehana,
Ryan and Erin Newman

We give thanks to the Search Committee of Jan Hashizume, David Murray and Dianne Tabura, for their time and dedication given to this very important process. Please continue to keep our Vestry in your prayers. We thank Rev. Mary for the Search Committee Prayer which has been slightly modified for the current status:
Almighty and everliving God, look favorably upon us, the people of All Saints', in this time of transition as we search for a new rector.
We pray for the life of our parish, that we may continue to be guided by your love and strengthened in our mission to serve you through ministry, fellowship and worship.
We pray for our Vestry, that their hearts may be open to what your spirit is saying.
We pray for the priest, Ryan Douglan Newman, that he be open to your call.
Give us your grace to follow where you would lead us, and grant us your peace. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

ECW Annual Luncheon Coming Up
The Episcopal Church Women of All Saints' will be having their annual luncheon on Saturday, February 16, 2013, 11:30 a.m., at the Island Palms Restaurant in Kapa'a. Anyone interested in attending is asked to confirm reservations with Janis Wright at 822-3930 or 652-2524, or e-mail her, by February 11, 2013. It has been suggested that since the luncheon falls on the scheduled monthly church workday, that attendees work up an appetite at the workday before heading to the luncheon! Great idea!
