Greetings!
Aloha Kay Lee Please pray for the soul of our beloved Kay Lee, who passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013. Kay, who was married to the late Clyde Lee, was a devoted and active member of All Saints'. She moved to O'ahu a few years ago where she lived with her sister while battling cancer. Close friend Marge Akana, remembers that when Anna Sloggett (see below) could no longer drive, Kay would bring her to church. No doubt they are reunited once again in Paradise! More information on Kay Lee's service will be forthcoming as it is made available. ______________________________________ |

Rev. Mary Tudela assumes role as interim priest
Rev. Mary Tudela will serve as interim priest at All Saints' until a new rector is on board. As most members know, she has been our Sunday supply clergy and has been filling in other areas during Rev. Robin's recent leave. Rev. Mary will now celebrate Sunday and Wednesday Eucharist services, and will also handle all other priestly duties.
Confirmation Classes - Rev. Mary has already been actively looking into the possibility of holding confirmation classes in preparation for the island-wide ceremony in April. If you or someone you know may be interested in being Confirmed, Reaffirmed or Received into the Episcopal Church, stay tuned for more details coming shortly, or please see Rev. Mary.
To contact Rev. Mary you may call her at 634-9343, or e-mail her. (Please note: As of this writing, her phone was not yet activated but should be working in a matter of days. In the meantime, you may contact the church office at 822-4267, and in an emergency, call Senior Warden, Galen Nakamura at 635-5450.)

Search Update - Candidate visitation this weekend!
Meet the Rev. Ryan Douglas Newman this Sunday, January 20
The Search Committee has completed their interview process for a new rector and has made their recommendation to the Vestry for consideration. The candidate, the Rev. Ryan Douglas Newman, has been invited to Kaua'i to visit the church and to be interviewed by the Vestry. He will arrive on Thursday, January 17, and will interview with the Vestry Saturday morning. On Sunday, January 20, he will attend both services, and arrangements have been made for refreshments to be provided after each service so that the congregation will have an opportunity to meet and greet him.
Rev. Newman's wife, Dr. Erin Newman, will be on Kauai for one day only, arriving on Saturday and returning to the mainland on Sunday. Rev. Newman will head back to the mainland on Tuesday, January 22.
+ + +
We give thanks to the Search Committee of Jan Hashizume, David Murray and Dianne Tabura, for their time and dedication given to this very important process, and for their deeply prayerful discernment.
Continue to keep our Vestry in your prayers. We thank Rev. Mary for the Search Committee Prayer which has been slightly modified for the current status:
Almighty and everliving God, look favorably upon us, the people of All Saints', in this time of transition as we search for a new rector.
We pray for the life of our parish, that we may continue to be guided by your love and strengthened in our mission to serve you through ministry, fellowship and worship.
We pray for our Vestry, that their hearts may be open to what your spirit is saying.
We pray for the priest, Ryan Douglan Newman, that he be open to your call.
Give us your grace to follow where you would lead us, and grant us your peace. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
