Mahalo Rev. Mary
Many thanks to Rev. Mary Tudela, for celebrating Christmas with us and opening up the Rectory for a wonderful Christmas Eve reception between the two services. Not only did she have a marathon of services to prepare for that began on Sunday, December 23, and ended on Christmas day, but she found the time to cook all the delicious food for the reception. We are truly blessed to have her in our midst as we continue the search for a permanent rector. Rev. Mary has also been called upon to provide pastoral services while Rev. Robin Taylor is away. Please contact Chris at 822-4267 to arrange any pastoral visits, or in an emergency, contact Senior Warden Galen Nakamura at 635-5450. Many thanks to all of our church volunteers for preparing the church for such beautiful services, and to all those who performed at both Christmas Eve services. Your dedication and support is truly appreciated.

Search Update

Aloha kakou:
The Search Committee has already conducted interviews via Skype/telephone with each of the 4 candidates originally provided to us by the Office of the Bishop.
We have narrowed our search down to two of the original four and have scheduled follow up interviews with them on Saturday, December 29th. We have also asked them to provide video or audio copies of sermons and have asked for those sermons to be provided to us as soon as possible after the interview First interviews with both candidates were very positive. They have been very responsive to requests for additional information and to scheduling of interviews during the busy Advent and Christmas period.
We hope to be in a position very soon to make a recommendation to the Vestry in favor of one of these candidates. It is our earnest hope that we will have a permanent minister at All Saints' by Easter although that may be a very ambitious target as Easter is early this year However, that continues to be our goal.
Following approval of the recommendation by the Bishop and the Vestry, the final candidate and spouse will come to Kaua'i for interviews with the Vestry.
We look to the Spirit to be with us and to guide us in this final stage of the process. We also appreciate your prayers.
Ke Akua pu me 'oukou.
David, Dianne and Jan
+ + +
Please continue to keep the Search Committee in your prayers. We appreciate their commitment and dedication to this very important process. We thank Rev. Mary for the Search Committee Prayer: Almighty and everliving God, look favorably upon us, the people of All Saints', in this time of transition as we search for a new rector. We pray for the life of our parish, that we may continue to be guided by your love and strengthened in our mission to serve you through minitry, fellowship and worship. We pray for our search committee, Jan Hashizume, David Murray and Dianne Tabura, that their hearts may be open to what your spirit is saying. We pray for the priest whose name is known to you alone, that he or she be open to your call. Give us your grace to follow where you would lead us, and grant us your peace. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
