Annual Customs Notifications
Required Annual Duty Payment Notice:
Section 111.29(b) of the Customs regulations requires all Customs Brokers to make the following annual notification. If you are the importer of record, payment to the broker will not relieve you of the liability to Customs charges (duties, taxes, or other debts owed Customs) in the event the charges are not paid by the broker. Therefore, If you pay by check, Customs charges may be paid with a separate check payable to "U.S. Customs & Border Protection" which shall be delivered to Customs by the broker.
Required Relationship Declaration:
Please note that U.S. Customs requires that all importers report any relationship that they have with the suppliers / manufacturers. If the importer has a vested interest or ownership in a supplier/manufacturing company, it must be declared to CBP at the time of entry. The purpose is to establish whether the Customs entry is listed at a "fair market value" and that the value on the entry is not "undervalued" due to the relationship. If you believe this applies to any of your Customs entries, please notify your Liberty broker contact as soon as possible
