Customs Cooperation Agreements: Israel, U.S. and Canada
Israel and U.S. Customs and Border Protection have taken a step towards the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism and the Israeli Tax Authority's economic operator program signing an agreement. Roughly a dozen Israeli exporting companies have been certified as AEOs with more awaiting certification.
Israeli customs officials have visited the U.S. to see how CBP manages its ports in San Diego, Los Angeles, Long Beach and Buffalo. To further their knowledge, they discussed topics that included: port operations, cargo processing, C-TPAT, radiation portal monitoring systems, Merchandise Enforcement Team warehouse inspections, technology used by field personnel, anti-tunneling operations, cross-border communication & coordination and collaboration with other government agencies.
Israel also recently signed a Customs Mutual Assistance Agreement with Canada that will strengthen global security by sharing information about their separate trading, which will make it easier to prosecute or stop customs offenses.

Holiday Schedule - New York and New Jersey Port Terminals
 All terminals at the Port of New York and New Jersey will be closed December 24, 2012 as well as December 25 in national observance of the Christmas holiday. Please be advised that both ports will also be closed December 31, 2012 and January 1, 2013 and will re-open in the New Year.
Port Newark Container Terminal will be operating extended gate hours through Friday, December 28, 2012. |

Liberty International Holiday Schedule
 Liberty Offices will be closing early on December 24, 2012 in observance of the holidays. The office will remain closed on the December 25, 2012. Liberty offices will also be closing early on December 31, 2012 and will remain closed on January 1, 2013 for the observance of national New Year celebrations.
