Governor McAuliffe Signs Executive Order 32 at the Virginia GHC 


Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe gave a lively, energetic speech to 700+ enthusiastic housers on Thursday, October 30th, during his first visit to the Virginia Governor's Housing Conference.

Just returned from a trade mission to Asia the evening before, McAuliffe frequently made the connection between housing and his pursuit of jobs and economic development for the Commonwealth.

Housing & Schools Forum in Chesterfield County January 22nd, 2015


 

Using Housing Virginia's Housing & Schools Symposium as a springboard, locals are bringing the conversation to Chesterfield County. Residents of all backgrounds are encouraged to join the discussion of where Chesterfield County is now and how to move forward as a whole community.

Howard Evergreen to Retire from Fluvanna-Louisa Housing Foundation

Howard Evergreen, longtime Director of the Fluvanna-Louisa Housing Foundation, is retiring at the end of 2014. A retirement party was held in Fluvanna on Saturday, November 8th to celebrate his career.

During his time at the Foundation, Howard built more than 200 homes for low income rural families, installed numerous ramps and accessibility improvements, and led the work repair / rehab effort in Louisa in the aftermath of the 2011 earthquake.

Dan Burke will be succeeding Howard as the new Executive Director of the Fluvanna-Louisa Housing Foundation.

The 2015 NLIHC Housing Legislative Forum will be more strategic and focused in its design, geared specifically for NLIHC members who are actively engaged in and committed to influencing legislative action on national housing policies affecting extremely low income individuals.
