December News From Angels...
|
|
For many children in foster care, the holidays are often a stark reminder of what it means not to have a family. They miss the comfort of knowing they have a place where they are always
welcome, year after year. They don't know the family traditions of mom's best tablecloth and china, carving the turkey, grandma's famous stuffing recipe and family games in the den with the cousins.
At Angels, we are working to change that predicament by bringing children into the arms of a welcoming foster family during infancy. Every child deserves a place, a home, a family. Every child deserves love and stability. This holiday season, as always, we are sincerely grateful for your continued support of the young foster children in the Angels Foster Care program. Wishing you and yours all the wonders of the season.
Sincerely, Jennifer Mills, LCSW Angels Foster Care Program Director

In this season of thanksgiving, we at Angels Foster Care are thankful for you and your past support of the babies and toddlers we find homes for. As you spend time with your family and friends during the holiday season, we hope you will think about the many young and vulnerable children in Santa Barbara County, who have suffered abuse, abandonment or neglect and are facing a future in foster care. With your financial support, Angels Foster Care can continue to help these wounded angels heal and grow by recruiting, training, certifying and supervising stable and nurturing foster families to care for them.
Every day in our local community, Angels foster families, along with the guidance of the Angels social worker team, provide foster infants and toddlers with every healthy resource and emotional connection they need to reach their full potential. Our focus on reaching them during the critical window of brain development that occurs before a child reaches two years of age is a significant factor in the successful outcomes of the children in our care. Will you help support this important work by donating today? A gift of $100.00 is a wonderful start in helping us find a new family to care for a young baby in need.
It costs our agency about $6800.00 to find, train, and maintain a foster home for one year. We need to add about 20 new foster homes to our roster every year to maintain our level of service. Any amount you can give is welcome and will be leveraged with the other donations, grants, and private funding we rely on to keep our agency active and thriving.
Every day, we at Angels imagine a future where every vulnerable child has a loving family to count on. Please make a gift today to support programs and services for the courageous foster families who are caring for foster babies and toddlers in our community this holiday season and all throughout the year.
Thank you for helping us to build families and best wishes to your family this holiday season.
Sincerely,
Meichelle Arntz Executive Director
