Hands

Welcome...

Hand in hand We have a note of thanks to give, one that can't be written in a card, addressed and sent.  There are groups of people we want and need to thank.  We often don't know their individual names.  They are diverse in their beliefs and life experiences.  They may live in our community or be widespread throughout the world.  Our Angels staff may have only met a few of them.  But the support they provide to an Angels family is immeasurable.

You may be one of these people.  We know hundreds, perhaps thousands of people, surround past and current Angels' families and children with kindness, generosity of spirit, and good will. Parenting, let alone foster parenting, can be quite the harrowing journey. As rewarding and enjoyable as it can be, there are times parents can feel alone and in despair. Knowing that Angels' families have a community of support unique to their family to nurture and care for them is reassuring and affirming for all.

We cannot begin to thank these neighbors, siblings, grandparents, friends, cousins, and acquaintances enough. The kind words, listening ears, warm meals, needed breaks, and heartfelt hugs make all the difference for an Angels' family and thus, for a child in need of a family.

Many, many thanks from the Angels Foster Care family!!

With gratitude,

Jennifer L. Mills, MSW, LCSW

2014 Cottage Hospital NICU reunion

The annual Cottage NICU Reunion is in October of 2014, at the Santa Barbara Zoo. Any parent, including a foster adoptive parent, can contact the NICU at 805-569-7522. Ask for information about the Reunion, including an invitation if this is applicable to the parent. The Parent must sign up the family to attend the Reunion, so that they know how many visitors to plan for this event. Extended family members are welcome to attend at their cost for entrance into the Zoo.

Angels Library

We have many useful books on parenting in our South County office library. Please stop by to browse our resources or contact your social worker if you would like us to select a book for you on a specific topic.
