Greetings!
There's no denying it! Summer is winding down! I hope everyone has had a good one!
As usual and thanks to our continuing growth, it's been a busy summer here at school. We have taken on three new rooms, allowing our K-4 program, including a Special Education room, to all be on the first floor. Nick Rice, formerly our high school biology and Special Education teacher, is settling into his new role as Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning. Nicole Mayo, our new Student Services Coordinator, has been quickly learning her new job, with lots of help from Melissa Onyango-Robshaw, who is transitioning to become a Special Ed teacher.
Although we had just two classroom teachers leave over the summer, there will be lots of new faces at school. New paraprofessionals, new office staff, and additional teachers will be enthusiastically learning the CVA culture and the details of their positions. They'll also be bringing their own energy, observations and ideas that are sure to help us in our never-ending journey of continuous improvement.

Registration Paperwork Needed!
Hope your summer is going well! As we spring into the 2016-2017 school year, there's lots of information to be shared. If your family is planning to attend CVA this school year you should have already received your registration/information packet in the mail. Please fill out the packet and return it by August 5, 2016. If you did NOT receive a packet, or if you have any questions, please contact Nicole Mayo at 651-523-7170 ext. 100. September is just around the corner and will be here before you know it and we want to be READY... i.e. having prepared students' day to day schedules, school bus routes, and other house keeping things to jumpstart the school year. There's so many new changes this school year at CVA with new classrooms, course offerings and new staff... Oh the excitement!
We'll look forward to seeing you back at CVA when school resumes in September.

Back-to-School Night is almost here! We hope all Cyber Village Academy students and families will join us Tuesday, August 30 from 6:30 to 8:00pm to welcome in the new school year. Teachers and other staff have already been hard at work preparing for the new school year and would love to catch up with returning students and match faces to the names of students new to CVA. This is a great opportunity for students to meet their new teachers, see the new classrooms, find lockers, check class schedules and reconnect with CVA friends from last school year. The evening will be an 'open-house' format: come when you can and stay as long as you like.

September School Lunch Menu
Cyber Village Academy offers hot lunches catered through Shalom Home every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The September lunch order form is now available here, and on the CVA website under "Resources." Please submit lunch orders as soon as possible so that we may provide lunches on the first day of school. We will still be accepting lunch orders on the first day, but it is much more helpful to provide accurate lunch counts if we have forms in advance. Forms can be mailed in, e-mailed, or faxed in to the school office. Payments can be made in cash, check, or using the PayPal link on the school website. If using PayPal to pay for school lunches, please be sure to include the name of the student and "school lunch" in the memo. To order hot lunches, check off each day that your student wishes to order lunch, and enclose payment for all ordered lunches. Families who qualify for free or reduced lunch should still complete the lunch order form each month, but should include an adjusted payment for reduced-priced lunches, or no payment for free lunch. Letters will be mailed out next week to alert all families who qualify to receive lunch at a free or reduced rate. Students may purchase milk independently of hot lunch. Milk accounts can be created by sending in money in advance to the office to be deducted from the student's account each time they select milk at lunch time. Students may also purchase milk in cash daily during lunch time. Milk is available for free to families who qualify for free AND reduced lunch. Transportation and Bus Passes for
Cyber Village Academy WILL NOT be offering discounted or FREE Metro Transit bus passes due to being able to provide school bus transportation within the city limits of St. Paul. If your family reside outside the school district limits your options may vary. Please read the options provided on the transportation form in your registration packet.

All 6th - 11th graders are welcome to join this completely amazing trip to the capital city! We'll have so much fun you might just explode. The sooner you sign up, the less it will cost you.

After School Program
Cyber Village Academy will be offering the After School Program again this school year. After school care is available for students from 3:30-5:30 pm during on-campus school days Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. To sign up for the After School Program, please complete the attached form and return it to the main office.
