As our growth continues, so does our staff! In the past few weeks, we've made several staffing decisions and new hires. To bring you up to date:
  • Nick Rice, who currently teaches high school biology and Special Education, has been promoted to Assistant Director of Teaching & Learning. Congratulations to Nick! He will be focusing his efforts on improving instructional practices and learning results in both the classroom and online environments.
  • Robyn Consoer, who currently teaches middle school math, will become our Lead Teacher. Robyn will work with struggling students, help mentor teachers, and assist with improving the impact of both Study Center and Advisory.
  • We have hired Toni Fruth, a long-time math teacher and currently math department chair at Cretin-Durham Hall as our new middle school math teacher. We hear great things about Toni from CDH, and look forward to her contributions to our math program.
  • We have hired David Fassler for the high school biology, environmental science and STEM position. This position covers the biology and environmental science that Nick teaches, as well as adding a geology course that we and David are very excited about! David is another long-time teacher who brings a wide range of experiences, from serving in the Navy to beekeeping.
  • Melissa Onyango-Robshaw, who has almost finished her special education teacher's license, will be joining our SpEd team, but saving some of her time to mentor our new student services coordinator...
  • Nicole Mayo will be our new student services coordinator. Nicole comes to us with a Master's Degree in educational leadership and experience doing similar work at the community college level.
  • We have also added another SpEd teacher, Amanda Kolpin. Amanda will be finishing her license and her Master's Degree in special education over the course of the year, adding to her already impressive list of accomplishments that include a Ph.D. in geography and several years working in schools.
Even as we approach the end of the year, the enthusiasm for next year can be felt around the school. We're very excited about the new energy and additional opportunities that these people and positions will bring!
Dave
